No, just like every other fan of music or of a particular artist, we think that our musical tastes are superior to everyone elses.

yeah, but compare a guy who loves Prince, Zappa and Hendrix to one who digs Madonna, Green Day and Eminem. Who has better taste? OF course we who digs the first tree, its obvious and above discussion.

Some of them are.
But most are very open minded.

I also find that some are very prudish, but most are extremely slutty.

We've had to fight for his honour time and time again. Defending him and his music from the closed-minded people of the world and their harsh opinions. You have to have an equired taste to be able to appreciate his music. Does that make us essentric or snobs.

watching a dvd of prince in paris france 1980. he was so new wave and punk rock back then. so green ! announcing the new song he wrote "jack U Off"and tuning his guitar during songs. The point is, he was my man even back then and yes i did have to fight to defend his merit as an artist. I also had to fight against what others thought of me for liking him so yes i guess you could say i'm a snob. It came from telling everybody back then he was great and enduring the bullshit. I tell my teenaged daughter ( who loves him and only knows him as iconic) what it was like back then so she understands when i turn my nose up. I payed the cost to be the boss and i wont accept Andre 3000 as a groundbreaker after one fuckin cool album. Remember when Lauryn Hill was genuis? D' Angelo's voodoo was in 2000! sustained brilliance and innovation aint easy. Alot of my childhood friends who trashed him have watched their favorite bands lose their relevance and their fuckin minds, ending up on some VH1 special. When Prince entered the hall i know that those same friends ( wherever they are) thought about me, and in response i just smirked and thought " so how ya like me now?!" biyatches!.

For the most part, I have to agree that the majority of Prince fans are music snobs. Prince has opened our eyes (and ears) to what good music is, however, I have come across several Prince fans who's music taste astonishes me. I do realize that we all have our own individual taste, but sometimes I just have to
omfg at what some people think is good music. Snoop, 50 Cent, Kylie, Britney, the Darkness, Kelis etc. barf Anyway, I know many people on this site don't like the musicians that I think are our greatest musicians of our time (Bob Dylan, Carlos Santana,), but to each his own.
