American Idol I just started watching American Idol this season, I was wonderig has anyone ever attempted to sing a Prince song in previous seasons?

I wondered about that too. Its kinda hard to do a prince song and really give it justice. I thought it would be cool if he were a judge on the show. it would be interesting just to hear his commentary. but he prolly wouldn't do it. its not his style. How can I live 4 love? I'm calling!!!

Can you imagine Prince being a judge? I don't think he could keep from laughing at these poor fools...

Most of P's songs are not talent show competition material.

They just started having guests judges during the first round on this season. In previous years, guest judges came on when they were filming live from their studio. Usually those performing have more talent than what you are watching now. You'll see what I mean as the season progresses. I don't think that Prince songs will do well in singing competitions.

Well, Prince has some great songs. It's not kareoke, just sing it in your key. Don't go out and try to sing Dirty Mind in a falsetto like the studio track because you're going to get laughed at. I don't think Prince could pull that off acapella. Just put your own stamp on it and if you can sing you'll be alright. -----edit----- About Leroy, you bet not get on his bad side or he'll bust a cap in your ass. No lie. What's even funnier is the fact that Simon even shut his ass up. he knew what time it was. [Edited 1/29/05 7:29am]

so many people were lied to when they were told they have talent. My kitty wants to play...

when people tell people they can sing when they really know they cant, because they dont want to hurt their feelings, theyre really doing them more harm than good

You mean like Paula Abdul? He could certainly deal with her when he gave her one of his songs...

I read that P and Jesse both shagged her back in the day

You mean like Paula Abdul? He could certainly deal with her when he gave her one of his songs... What did he give her? A song that was never released as a single and that most people don't know. Back then a song was a standard gift to the girls he was sleeping with anyway... Anyway, didn't he also give songs to T.C. Ellis?

I think some of his songs are doable in a singing competition. Mostly ballads that you can tear up if you have the pipes for it. For example:
Do Me Baby, International Lover, Condition of the Heart, Got a Broken Heart Again, With You, Adore, Call My Name, etc. He's used to dealing with low-talent ladies: basically everyone he's ever been romantically involved in. It sure would be cool if he were a guest judge and would work with each of them on a song for them to perform. Of course, he would never do that, not at this point in his career. Plus, he's way too shy for that. Not his style. It took ages for him to start presenting on awards shows.. and he's f***ing 45! Come here, babe.. yeah...
