LR: But I'm really mad with Prince because a few weeks ago, we had a big writeup on me in the Paper. He said that to get little Richard to record, all you have to do is give him a bucket of chicken. I thought it was horrible. I'm a vegetarian.

Craig: that's not very nice.

LR: And I said my God, and you know? This is not bad. I'm 72 years old. And the gods have been good to me. .....

that wasnt cool though..and you all know if d'angelo or beck had made a similiar comment about prince you all would be up in arms..

I never read that particular Prince interview, but I'm sure Prince was referring to the old days when black artists got screwed over in their recording contracts, thus getting them for the equivalent price of a car & a bucket of chicken.
Little Richard should know better than that!
I'm sure Prince respects the hell out of him.

I agree, Little Richard took Prince's comment out of context. I think it's funny that he took offense at the "bucket of chicken" comment because he's a vegetarian. After all, didn't Little Richard do a series of Taco Bell commercials a few years back. Even if he only eats the bean burritos or the pintos and cheese himself, he still promoted a company that makes most of its earnings on meat-based products.

So maybe you can get Little Richard to sing for a new car and a spicy chicken burrito. Yeah, Prince sooo was wrong for saying a "bucket of chicken!"
