Minneapolis Genius Again, I'm new so don't get angry. I want info on this. Is this a 94 East album with Prince guest-starring? Is it his first Warner Brothers album? When was it was it re-released as a CD? Why does no one acknowledge it and it's equally as hard to find out about as Goldnigga? Don't hurt me, I'm a newb. I'm supposed to be stupid.

The reason you are having a problem finding one of these items in the USA is because they were not released here.
The 94 East Collection 2 CD set and 94 East sgl CD w/6 trks were made in England and distributed by BMG. They were done by Dressed to Kill. single cd in 1999 and double CD in 2001 (Metrodome logo) website on CD's is listed as: "dressed2kill.co.uk" That's all I have for you as I to have been unalble to locate a copy of the goldn' cd. There are lot of CD's that were released inthe UK or Japan that were not released/pressed/minted/sold in the USA. Purple wishes N good luck 2 U

Recordings made which sometimes involving Prince. He didn't 'guest star'. That's the spin to sell more copies. Is it his first Warner Brothers album?
No. The recordings were made before Prince signed to Warner Brothers. When was it was it re-released as a CD?
It's re-released as often as the owner of the rights to the music, Pepe Willie, needs to make more money out of it. Why does no one acknowledge it and it's equally as hard to find out about as Goldnigga?
It's not an album by Prince. It's just a project which he happened to be involved in before he started recording in his own right. . It's not hard to find out about. These questions are asked regularly here by people new to Prince. ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

Isn't it said when new people arrive here on the org, and have to start their thread with "I'm new here, so don't get angry." Alas, this is a sign of how things go here on the org nowadays. 555-4444 you're on coffee talk.

OK, one last question about this whole thing. Is 94 East the Revolution before they called themselves the Revolution? Thanks for all your help. Don't hurt me, I'm a newb. I'm supposed to be stupid.

No, Pepe Willie had a band (94 East) and EMPLOYED Prince to do some studio work on his own demos. This was when Prince was still at High School, only 17 ish. And that's why he owns the rights to those recordings. Pepe cashed in on Prince's later fame by releasing the demos, updated apart from the parts Prince played. Prince was a solo artist but had a live backing band which was nameless until just before the 1999 album, I believe, when he named them The Revolution. None of 94 East were in the Revolution.
