PRINCE and JAMES BROWN? i was wondering if these two have ever hooked up musically?
maybe prince should produce an album for james? what do you think? It's better to have and not need, than to need and not have!

Well, they once performed together... with Michael Jackson, actually. This was at Brown's gig when JB invited both to stage. Michael danced and Prince tried to play the guitar altough he according to reports was totally lost with the song they were playing.

I've watched that tape alot and I wouldn't say he was lost in the song as much of it being a case of nerves getting called up on stage out of the blue by JB on the advice of MJ...It would B hard 4 anyone 2 bring there "A" game 2 the plate. Plus the guitar, he used ain't his own its someone else's feel etc....hell I don't even know if U got a guitar-pick 2 use...lol, Not even bringing up the fact that as he was making his way 2 the stage on Big C's back he throws off his gloves 4 someone 2 toss one right back towards him...thats ruff stuff y'all~ (spotlight on the lamp post falling over as Prince grabs it like its a solid post while exiting the stage) Classic~

yes great video !!!
I saw it maybe 30 times and I never saw Prince lost Bnatural,Prince is so inspired by James Brown, he payed him so many tributes that I don't know if he'd still like to produce James Brown and if James would like to be produced by someone else, even by Prince. If yes, maybe it would be already done. Prince produced the singers he always admired and loved like Mavis Stapple, George Clinton, Larry Graham and others, so yes why not James Brown ? it's a good idea, maybe just a good idea ... the question is if Prince and James Brown want it ...

JB's been produced by many other artists over the last 15 yrs. (Dan Hartman did the Gravity album 4 example) mostly 2 ill-effect.
I don't think P does his idols justice when he produces them anyway - all tend 2 fall short of greatness, so mayb he should leave JB alone. Besides, I think James is past it, unfortunately. Just my $0.02 "We've never been able to pull off a funk number"
"That's becuase we're soulless auttomatons"

In 1985 or '86,Prince sent James a couple of songs, but James wasn't impressed enough to record them. However,Prince did remix the 1989 Aretha Franlin/James Brown duet "Gimme Your Love".
