WWWWWAAAAACCCCCHHHHHOOOOOWWW!!!!! I love that damn scream. You know he's about to tear the damn song up. But i didn't appreciate that half assed "AAOWWAAHH" in "Life Of The Party." When I listen to Musicology, I'd say no, but I know that a lot of people were surprised when they heard The Beautiful Ones, The Ladder, etc on the One Nite Alone Tour in Europe. I've seen a couple of boots from the recent tour and on The One/Fallin' he screamed as good as ever. I don't think he's as free with them as in the past which is not surprising. | |

I love the screams in Rave un2 the joy fantastic. Totally piercing. Of course the early screams seem to be the coolest. Beautiful ones, darling nikki, 3rd verse of Purple Rain etc. His live scream is definitely not quite like the recorded ones. I will say, however, that I saw him last year and his 3rd verse Purple Rain scream was perfect. As a singer, Prince's scream is the hardest thing to emulate. I can do all but the very highest of his falsetto and his very lowest bass. He has an amazing range! [Edited 1/24/05 11:26am] "Life is just a party and parties weren't meant to last"
