Who else is excited about the "Even the Children Won't Understand" project? I am real excited, but I've heard this is prety much another anti war, anti bush, pro peace album ala Green Day's "American Idiot".

I doubt it'll be anti-bush. I don't think Prince would specifically address his political concerns to any one person these days, since many are to blame; plus, the same song may be just as relevant 10 years from now -- so why date it? Perhaps the songs will make us question... not necessarily each other, or those in power, but hopefully they'll make us question ourselves. If a change is gonna be made, it needs to start with us. We all want to talk about global ethics, and yet we treat each other like shit. I don't even want know what half you people do when you're on the road. And if someone gave you an extra dollar in change, would you go back to him and get it re-arranged? You know what I'm saying. Peace and Love 4 One Another! | |

according to prince on the tavis smiley show interview, he seems more interested in the spiritual ramifications of politics than the specific names and trends of what's going on (though i know he's been outed as a news junkie several times in the past, so i wouldn't be so naive as to say he's not interested in what's going on in the here and now). i think it would be really interesting if he did a 'political album', especially if it had this harder edge that's been hinted at - but really, the rumors fly so wide and far when it's the eleventh hour before a new album, chances are the actual product is gonna be a four-disc set of polka ballads in which prince debuts his newfound mastery of the theremin. ya never know. ya know? | |

OK, I take it love2thenines feels that he has heard an equally reliable and accurate account of a DIFFERENT, soon-to-be-released album? So who should I believe? I'm excited at any prospects for new music. It remains to be seen, of course, whether any of this info is legit. I do hope there's a new album on the verge of release, and one with properly chosen singles (especially the lead single). If the new album is anything in the vein of that "Glass Cutter" track we've all heard, then my lvel of disappointment will likely reach or exceed Musicology proportions.

This shit is all so bull. Why hold on to anything till you hear it officially. If a new album is in the works I hope it focuses on more creative, less issues driven material. Isn't that what Prince fans really want?
