Cinnamon Girl

M eye the only purplepeating sob who deosn't like this song, it's commercial aor at it's worst...the only song I skip on musicology. I like the lyrics and context, plus the video is cool, but the song is so pop. If I wanna listen to cinnamon girl I listen to this guy.

Hi Kent hug. I was talking about the music, not the lyrics. However someone who refuses to vote has no right to criticize the state of the world anyway IMO, but better keeps his mouth shut nod nod.

the lyrics are an integral part of the music. they both cannot be taken in isolation.
what part of the music dont you like?

Like i said, I don't wanna listen to lyrics like that coming from someone who refuses to vote. Moreover I can't stand to listen to the song, so even if I liked the lyrics, I still could not stand the music.
The verses are a rip-off of "Money don't matter tonight" IMO (and I never was a huge fan of that song in the first place) and the chorus just makes me barf. Everytime my boyfriend or I listen to the song played on the radio or TV we just redface and hope nobody realizes that it is by Prince and asks as if we are a fan.

The chorus is uninspired, in my opinion. Maybe a better sound production would have made it better to my ears?

Gotta agree with that (and with the Neil-lovin'!), but he's done PLENTY worse tracks, and this one just gets by on its good intentions.

I think it's cool when Prince covers stuff, because he DOES something with it rather than just play it the way it was played originally. Besides, as much as I like Neil Young's songs, I can't get past his voice and crappy lead playing. I wish some more people would redo his songs!

But it's not a cover of the Neil Young song; it's a Prince original.
