Prince in People

I bought the People Mag with Brad & Jen on the cover and there was an article about Prince's party after the Golden Globes. Sorry, no scanner, but it talked about how it was THE PLACE TO BE!!!

Remember when Prince used to throw parties for the fans at Paisley Park on Friday nights? Now it seems he only throws parties for celebrities. It's kind of sad.

there'll be more paisley parties, i'm sure. it seems like he throws parties for fans at PP just around the time a new album's getting ready to be released...so he threw an after-awards show for celebs...it was a celebrity event. he's a celebrity. it's not exactly like he's ever eschewed the glitz of his fame when it suits him, after all.

see, this is that fine line between fan and obsession and I damn near crossed a few years ago. When you start taking it personal when Prince is hanging out with other celebrities like him...you're too close. Back away.

add this: Remove the purple trench coat, the purple lace, and get out of that homemade "Rasberry Beret" outfit, then back away from the Prince very...very ...slowly.

You guys totally have misread me. I'm hardly obsessed with Prince...ANYMORE. I just remember back in the day when there would be parties at Paisley Park every Friday night regardless of new album or celebrations. In fact the first Celebration is kind of what ruined the traditional Paisley Party in my opinion.

I'm just saying that he hasn't thrown one of those parties in a long time and it's ironic that his last few parties he has thrown have been for celebrities and iff you all want to think I'm obsessed taht's fine but you people werent' hanging out at Paisley every Friday night either so you really don't know what I'm talking about.

So how is saying it's sad taking it personal? I would hardly say my comments constitute famdom. I just miss the Friday night parties at Paisley.

I'm not sure Paisley parties will ever truly exist anymore. I don't really count charging people $75 to see an aftershow a Paisley park party (at least not how I remember them).

this is true...I just thank whoevs that I was able to enjoy as much of 'em as I did. It really seems he's grown out of the Paisley Party party smile

Prince has thrown parties specifically for celebrities going back for years. He threw a huge party after the Sept.14, 1988 Minneapolis Lovesexy concert in the Paisley Park parking lot underneath a big circus tent and such people as Miles Davis, Eddie Murphy, Stevie Nicks, PeeWee Herman and a lot of others, who I can't remember right now, were there. That party was not for the fans, only for celebrities & various bigshots.
