Noteworthy Shows from 2000 Now that the "millenium" (ho hum) has truly kicked in and there have been some really cool SHOWS worth re-living in the comfort of our own houses/cars/parties,
I can't help but to notice some absentees in the whirlwind that is the bootleg world. Somebody needs to keep track... Labels, take note: I need the following shows and I need to hear them now! 20th May 2000 (am) First show as "Prince" since 1993. 1/2 hour take on 'Mad', "showcased a guitar solo that made the crowd wild". Show lasted under two hours. 27th May 2000(am) Last Paisley show before the 'Celebrations' event commenced. After 5 min speech (mentioning the press and Clive Davies) the concert continued with 'Come On', 'Hot With U', 'Livin' For The City' & 'Days Of Wild' "Prince was slapping the bass so hard he almost blew the speakers up". Considered one of the best performances of that year so far. 8th July 2000 (am) - Preview of 'Vavoom'. 15th July 2000 (am) 'Rock Me Baby' performed as a fast paced number. "Prince impressed the crowd with some awe-inspiring guitar playing". "'Vavoom was next, featuring more first-rate guitar work by Prince (followed by 'Y Should Eye Do That, When Eye Can Do This?', 'American Woman', and 'The One', which many considered "one of the highlights of the concert") 29th July 2000 (am) - 'Right Back Here In My Arms' loop followed by "lengthy guitar solo",plus some "beautiful Music played by Prince on the piano". Bass workout by Prince. Again: "He was slapping the bass so hard that the speakers were vibrating" (he played bass and keyboards at the same time). 4th November 2000 (am) Last Paisley show before 'Hit N Run' tour. Voting speech - Prince mentions the constitution. Closed set with 'When Will We B Paid?' 23 November 2000 (am) Aftershow in Atlanta, featuring Public Enemy's Chuck D. on 'Fight The Power' and some swearing. Thanksgiving speech by Prince. 10th December 2000 (am) Aftershow concluding the 'Hit N Run' tour (Las Vegas) Sheila E. joined the band after a break. That more or less summed up 2000 for me. Anyone care to mention those noteworthy shows pertaining to 2001, before the cobwebs begin to form????? Peace and B Wild! "You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person."

23 November 2000 (am)
Aftershow in Atlanta, featuring Public Enemy's Chuck D. on 'Fight The Power' and some swearing. Thanksgiving speech by Prince. Professor Griff cursed so much, Prince walked off stage for 10 minutes...we all thought the show was OVER!!! It was funny to see John Blackwell and Najee exchange looks to each other like, "what do we do now, Prince just bolted!" Najee ended up playing a solo during Prince's absence. 10th December 2000 (am) Aftershow concluding the 'Hit N Run' tour (Las Vegas) Sheila E. joined the band after a break. I thought I read somewhere that this show is available, I think on the Premium label...
