American Idol Ay ya'll...Im watching American Idol now , since its started its new season, and i think it would be cool if someone sang a Prince song.. don't you all?! ...a ha hah!!! yeah dat would be cool if somebody sang Little Red Corvette, or Purple Rain or Adore..or maybe Do Me. Baby..

why wouldn't it be cool? ... I mean its cool (to me) to see how many people like Prince and whateva... (actually i think if alotta guys did it , it be more funny)..but i don't think it would be awful at all..esp if they sing real good!

Well, it's actually a Bonnie Raitt song, but someone did sing "I Can't Make You Love Me..." and she did a VERY good job of it.
edit: and i like Simon -- he speaks more truth than the others, for real. i don't believe in letting people waste their lives on a talent they don't have just because you were too nice and gave them false hope in something they'll never achieve. and hey, if they do have the potential, then being told they don't have "it" will cause them to kick it up a notch to better themselves, and then maybe they will have a chance. by the way, everyone should quit telling people they can sing when they can't. a lot of people were saying, "but my friends said i have a good voice" and they had nothing CLOSE to a good voice. I heard that for the last tour they were going to do a medly of Prince with Fantasia doing Purple Rain.
His stuff doesn't always lend itself to showcasing your voice. It's so individual that you need to be creative to really sound good doing it. Imagine someone singing Le Grind or Lovesexy. Actually Lovesexy would work on one of those ensemble numbers. That's why everyone sings Stevie Wonder. The melodies leave nothing to the imagination. You just sing them straight, and if you can carry a tune, it sounds pretty good. Some of the ones mentioned (LRC, Adore, Do Me Baby) would work pretty well, though. Check this song out at:

Lovesexy would only confuse the hell out of everybody in the audience. I would seriously give Simon a blo job in a heart beat then I'd ask him to critique my performance. Not kidding. Okay, you would give Simon a blow job and he would say "That was absolutely horrible". (Regardless of how good you were) No, I would not like to be critiqued by Simon when it comes to the bedroom, even though I haven't had any complaints yet.
