Judas Smile

High!

I was Onedering what everyone thought of the song "Judas Smile". I know Prince put it out there 4 us 2 hear, and 2 analyze like the rest of his music.

So.....

Who has been Bamboozled, and why?

Who put him down?

What Claims?

Changed someones name?

How much do they want?

In return, a Judas Smile?

You will never b funky?

I think it's about people who double post and use "high" for a greeting. Also u 2 4 and ur. I think he feels betrayed by them because they are turning his fan base into a laughing stock.

This song puzzles me too!

The "bamboozled" part makes me think of Clive Davis. Prince got paid up front for that record, and Arista lost tons of money.

The "never was fond of every dumb blonde who can't swim in the carpool" reminds me of Britney. So does the part where he says "you're secret's out the box, B, unless you fess up to what you stole - here's what we think, YOU'RE the weakest link".

And the part where he says "the chocolate invasion is here" --- maybe he means kiddie pop is going out and R&B is taking over? It is kinda true now, with Destiny's Child and Alicia.

Who the hell knows.

Oh -

As for the question of what Britney stole: it's alleged that her song "I'm A Slave 4 U" uses a loose sample of "Nasty Girl".

I think it's posters like HarleyQuinn who spew negativity, that give the site a bad name.

I believe the song does have to do with copyright issues, and protecting one's artistry. There are probably a mix of instances he is addressing in this song that we will never know. But, that's alright, he wrote the song, it's his to release in any way he seems fit, and like so much of his songwriting, we "the fams" are held captive in trying to understand, analyze, and come to conclusions.

"Old School" to me is "real music" and that is what he is his all about, "real music". I wish that more "real music" would make more of a comeback. Just good old musicians creating and performing and being free to express themselves with these talents.

I think Prince is a perfect example of pure musicianship, along with his band. They are the greatest! I hope in the future that every award that this world can give, will be given to him, he deserves it.
