My aunt and Uncle playing 1999, Prince(album), and Purple Rain on Vinyl in the basement when I was a lil kid. I'd stand up on my uncles old exercise machine, and grab a broomstick and pretend I was at First Avenue. Blue

I can't remember there being a time when I didn't like Prince. I'd have to say I started liking him around the time "I Wanna Be Your Lover" started getting a lot of airplay. "Walk like it's for sale and the rent is due tonight" - J. Alexander, diva extraordinaire and runway expert......

I remember hearing the drumz and baseline on "Dance On" and being entranced. I would keep rewinding starting at "Pick It Up!!" and having a fit dancing around like someone possessed. I was 8 or 9 when Lovesexy came out.

Back in 1984 (here in california) I babysat for some kids whom their father, mother and uncle use to claim went to high school with Prince. They brought it up one day because they use to always hear me with my purple rain cassette (this is 1984 mind you) The kids were like: "our parents went to high school with Prince ya know?" Knowing the family had just moved to town from Minneapolis, I asked and sure enough they had! They were very critical of Prince. Jealous, I suppose. It made me buy more cassettes, to bring along everytime I babysat for their kids

Intro - 1999, Purple Rain, but a girl I'll refer to as "Cynthia Rose" layed me down, in the dark on her dining room floor and insisted that I listen to Condition of the Heart. Everything changed. C U IN THE SUNSHINE
