Best setting to see Prince I want to know which venue you think is best to see Prince.
Club Theater Ballroom Small Arena Large Arena Ampitheater Stadium THe best I've seen hom was at a small areana called Hoffeinz Pavillion here in HOuston. Itwas on the Hit and RUn tour and it was awesome. I first saw Prince at the Coca Cola Starplex Ampitheater in Dallas . I wasn't in awwwe. So I was thinking that maybe it was because it was alrge venue that I didn't like it. Bu tin '04 he plays Musicology in the Toyota Center (Large Arena) and it killed. Almost as good as Hit and Run. Maybe Hit and Run was so good cause I was right up to the speakers. And I wonder, has Prince ever performed a stadium show in North America. I know he almost has to do stadiums in Europe and the Far East. [Edited 1/16/05 22:13pm] Working up a purple sweat.

I'd say club -- that was my best Prince experience, plus I've heard some amazing performances from his small club appearances.
edit: and yes, Prince played stadiums in the U.S. during the Purple Rain tour. [Edited 1/16/05 22:37pm]

This one is so easy...
Paisley Park...late....Friday nights. Man...I really miss those nights. What happened? Can U all imagine what could have been these past few months after the tour? I mean, he deserves a break and all...but what better than a weekly jam...U know, just to keep in shape...throw some new ideas at us in preparation for the next album? Come on Prince...let Ur friends in...Paisley Park...Friday nights...let's not let a great facility go to waste!

The best place for me was the week long Celebration performances at Paisley Park. Up close and hanging with like-minded folks. It'll be hard to top that week. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Actually, Fillmore West, the first (although at a different location), is in SF. Bill Graham also had the Fillmore East in NYC, which has since closed. [Edited 1/17/05 17:36pm] [Edited 1/17/05 17:37pm] a psychotic is someone who just figured out what's going on

I enjoyed seeing him in a smaller club setting. Studio 54 in Las Vegas in Dec of 2002, HOWEVER, in that small club setting sometimes the guitars would hit notes and I SERIOUSLY thought my ears would start bleeding it was so loud.
The HOB in Las Vegas in 2004 was definately a wonderful experience. And the show he did here in Sept 04 was great because it was outdoors. Okay dammit, let's face it. I like seeing Prince anywhere. I'm firmly planted in denial

2002 Hit & Run Tour – Hollywood Palladium, Hollywood, CA VIP section Chris Tucker on one side of me and Eddie Murphy on the other. He was incredible. Also 2004 after the Grammy’s BB Kings HOB’s unbelievable performance. Seeing P in a smaller club is more close and personal. He said himself he prefer smaller clubs because u can get loose. He says there’s more freedom performing in a smaller club. I notice 2 that when P performs in smaller clubs his shows r after hours and he can stay up all night lol…. I know I’m 2 old 4 this type of funk, but when he’s in town I want 2 be right there.
