File this post under "diggin' in the crates"... I kinda forgot about this song, but it's pretty good...I remember when I bought "Like a Prayer" being really surprised that Prince did a duet w/ Madonna...not sure why, just seemed weird. The lyrics are a bit simplistic, for Prince anyway, but the overall vibe is strictly Prince though you can here Madonna trying to keep up w/ the funk...What are your opinions of this song...assuming you have any...

It's an interesting song...very moody and haunting,but it's kinda repetitive.They keep repeating the lines "are you wasting my time?....are you just being kind?" over and over.But vocally,they sound great together.My favorite part is when say...

I'm indifferent about this track. When I first heard it I thought it was great. I played it and played it, but then I realized that it was horribly out of place on the Like A Prayer album. And then I couldn't figure out what was worse: that I liked the Like A Prayer album that the song was out of place on, or that I liked the song that was so out of place on the Like A Prayer album. Some days I would listen to Like A Prayer just to hear Love Song, and other days I would listen to Like A Prayer and skip Love Song.

What I'm trying to say is that "quirky" isn't Madonna's music style. Listening to a Prince album that switches up here and there is something that's expected. When it happens on a Madonna album, it doesn't work. I think that Love Song by itself is a nice track...and that's the only way I listen to it nowadays.

Sticks out like a sore thumb on that album. I remember really lookin forward to hearing it and really liking it because it was sooooo Prince. I only heard 1 second of it while my friend was winding the tape to it and i just knew it was that one!

Does anyone remember the SCENT that came in the cassette???? Love Song was kind of a let down considering it was a Prince and Madonna duet.

its one of those songs thats good, but if you hear it a few times it gets old quick

I bought the album because of that song, and I was SO disappointed!! I go back and listen to that song once every couple years or so, and yep... it STILL sucks!
