Do people care about the music?

Ok. I notice that there have been many threads about Prince and Mani/Mayte. I was just wondering do people care more about his relationships or his music? confuse

i care about the music. the gossip stuff can be fun every now and again, but it gets old quick, especially when people keep on pickin' at every last little detail that's nobody's business to begin with, and probably not even stuff that the people in question even think about themselves.

Of course we care about the music, when there's music to discuss, the rest doesn't get a look in - I think we're all itching for new Prince music.

I'd care for the music more if he'd come up with something good again....finally!

he could stuff a hundred dollar bill in each copy of his next album and custom record each copy to each listener's specifications, and people would still bitch about how it's not what they want. musicology wasn't bad for what it was. it was certainly no travesty...and in five or so years from now, half of you all who are ragging on it are gonna be "rediscovering" it and talking about how underappreciated it was/is/will be. so, at the risk of sipping the dreaded purple kool-aid, i'm not hearin' it. disbelief

of course i care about the music. i understand why u posted this thread too. It's fun every once in a while to see pics of P and Mani, and to talk about them. But i love prince for his music. He's beautiful and that's fun to talk about too. But i love the music more than anything. if it weren't for the music, i don't know where i'd be right now. thanks for this thread. i never realized that's what i wasn't talking about here. the incredialbe guitar riffs, and just the pure genius of the music he puts out for us hungry fans to hear. even if there isn't a lot of material to talk about from the recent times, it's still awesome to talk about all the crazy funky music he put out b4,during, and afer his prime. hell, i don't think that the prime is even the right word to say, cuz he has prime moments i think on every album i've ever heard or owned. thanks for this thread!

very well-said...i really dont think musicology was all that bad - i thought it was pretty good (i actually thought it was awesome, it rocked my socks and thats all that matters) and the point you made about prince and saying how he could give us money and personalize albums for each fan is very much true. No one would be happy still..all i can say is Prince, especially cuz he's been in this business for so long, knows what he's doing, and for any of us to ever question it i feel is dumb. i trust prince with *MOST* of what he does cuz he knows damnwell better than i do what the picture is..

and as for my opinion on this thread, i care mostly for the music..yes, prince is the most beautiful man i've ever seen in my life and he's scrumptious 4 days but it's really about the music...i joined this org because of the musicology concert, the first and only prince concert ive been to. and because i experienced his music live im here to talk about it...of course it rarely gets spoken about...but im for the music

the pictures and gossip (the GOOD gossip i.e. new wrekkid commin out, etc, etc so) are bonus.

LOL That was my point. I joined the Org because I wanted to find out anything and everything about the music. I must admit that I discovered alot of songs that I never heard of before. That is always a plus. Everyone likes to hear gossip that is human nature. (some more then others) But damn every week it seems there is a thread about his women. I pass it by most of the time but this week I guess it just got to me. wall

Well I'm not afraid to admit that I care about the music and the man, including his life and I have NEVER started a Mani/Mayte/woman post but I do respond to them. He is so interesting and being a psych major, I love to analyze unique people. Some of us are interested in his life and others aren't and I think both are OK razz
