So if Prince is going to retire the "classics" songs, will he play older songs the aren't considered "classic"??

For years Prince has always tried to put his past hits behind him the whole prince era not playing any Prince songs, the Musicolgy tour etc...

I myself was tiring of hearing Kiss, 1999, Little Red Corvette as much as he is tired of playing, and for that I can't blame him.

So what songs that are from the early-mid-late Prince years would he play how about:

I'm yours
Why you wanna treat me so bad
Another lover
Mountains
Tambourine
I wish u heaven
electric chair
daddy pop
the max
letitgo
dolphin

I think you all get the idea, what songs aren't consider classics would you like to see him play live??

Snap

it would be cool if he'd play some of his older tunes at an aftershow at least

i'd be happy to hear him perform any of the rarely heard gems from his first two albums

just as long as we're together
baby
my love is forever
so blue
i'm yours
crazy you
when we're dancing close & slow
with you
it's gonna be lonely
still waiting

that would be insane!

I know this is from PR but I sure would love to see a searing performance of the beautiful 1's.

Well, I'm a little sceptical about the "last time" thing. I think what he's trying to say is that he doesn't want to do anymore "hits" tours after this one. Most of his tours since Lovesexy have been "hits" orientated tours: Nude, Diamonds & Pearls, Act I+II, Jam Of The Year/New Power Soul, Hit N Run/Celebration, Musicology etc. Really only 1995's Gold tour and 2002's One Nite Alone tour have been focused on new material or lesser known songs. I believe he'll play Purple Rain and Lets Go Crazy many times again - I just don't think he wants people coming to the concerts knowing that he's going to play them!

He's been saying he's "retiring the classics" for over a decade - It's never gonna happen.

Amen. The weakest part of the ONA setlist was the ubiquitous Raspberry Beret singalong.

Other than that, the setlists from that tour were a great mix of new songs, older "deep" cuts, jams, covers and unreleased material.
