Rave DVD or Live in Vagas DVD?

Which DVD is the best one to get? I gather that The Vagas DVD is a great performance but it's a poor production and that 'Rave' is not too great a show but at least it's filmed better.

SO....

What are your opinions on these two because I'd like to get one!

I think there both totally different shows. The one night alone show is defo more funky and deep with some great james (the work, 1+1+!-3) and his voice on gotta broken heart again sends shivers down my spine! However i think P looks tired and nakered in this prob coz it was the last nite of the whole tour. He looks great in Rave though and this 2 has some great stuff on it (the blues jam, and i LOVE the face down bass intro 2 kiss).

Guess it just depends on what kinda mood ur in!

Rave is MUCH better in my opinion. Besides for all of the guest apperances that I didn't really care to see (Lenny, Larry, ect.) some of the songs are great, the filming is good, and P looks great. I think it is worth is but Aladdin on the other hand I wouldn't buy again.

Get both! They even out each other. Prince with a lot of makeup, long flowing hair, Smurf outfit on Rave OR Prince with minimum makeup (for him), short hair, conservative suit on Aladdin.

I like the Strange Relationship performance in Las Vegas and Nothing Compares to U on Rave. Well, uh, again...get both!

Ronny

Aladdin looks like crap but what an amazing show. His solo on 'whole lotta love' is worth it alone... no , no... his singing on 'gotta brokenheart' is worth it alone.. hah!

I love that he allowed something that raw be released. I loved his playing alongside Nikka Costa.

Get both. I had Rave at first and I really wasn't going to buy the other one because of the quality. I think they are both great DVD's. Besides once you see the Vegas DVD you will be so in tune to the music and Prince that the quality wont mean much. They are both a must. clapping

I enjoyed the Rave DVD, but it had staged almost antiseptic feeling. Too slick too performed. I audio taped and appreciate the show more. I love the Aladdin show.
It's moodier, funkier and I lol when he makes fun of Ozzy

Hard to call as they are both quite different. Depends what you're after. The Vegas show definitely reflects his more recent music, look, and style of performing, while Rave gives you more of the older numbers and you get Rosie Gaines and other guests. Sorry - not much help...

Although the audiovisual quality of the Alladin DVD is much worse than Rave, I still enjoy it much more. The performances are just way better in my opinion. Rave is a disgrace in my opinion, it makes me feel bad about Prince.

I love love love the Vegas show - have watched it so many times. Ok the quality of sound and pic is not great but the quality of the music, musicianship and vocals are.

Rave is the only P live performance that I'll probably never watch again - how someone so good at this could be so poor was just depressing. Was excited by some of the setlist before I heard it but great songs became lame and the band were pants.

Funny... I believe quite the opposite. To me, the Aladdin DVD is the worst of all US released DVDs, and Rave is far more entertaining. My friends yawn when they watch Aladdin, but enjoy the "Prince" they've come to know and love on Rave.

I don't know, I just can't get into the Rave DVD: the performances, the band, the female dancer, the audience, the way PP is poorly decorated, I think it is all very mediocre. I think the band on the ONA DVD is just much tighter. It's funny that we all enjoy Prince for different reasons. To each their own I guess...

The guys I used to be in a band with caught the Rave concert on Tv one night and it was so embarassing! They knew I was a big fan and I'd said a fair bit about how good he is live. They never believed word I said again!
