Dammit, Dammit! A Million Days is cool and all, but Illusion, Coma... would blow up! Can u imagine a video to this song, and the mass appeal the single/video would receive. Prince fans are notorious for bitchin about what songs he releases as singles, Im not usually one of those people, and Im not bitchin now. It's jus that Illusion Coma, would dominate the R&B, Pop, and Rock charts. It's the funkiest song on the album!

No, that song is way too unconventional for mainstream radio. The average Usher fan would hear it and say "WTF is this crap????" and then change the station looking for more Usher.

I'm a damn Usher fan and I don't change the damn station! mad And I have played the track for numerous folks and they liked it

I'm completely with you on this. A nice animated video would be great, regular or digital animation. Everything in the song is so cartoonish it would be perfect. Everyone would get a kick out of an animated Prince as well. I said this the day the album came out.

It's a great song; definitely grew on me quite a bit. Honestly though, is there really a point to promoting Musicology anymore? I don't see anyone else buying it now. Its momentum has definitely passed.

IF Prince is not releasing as much material these days though, I think it'd be a damn good move.

I'd prefer a really good P album every two years over a mediocre one every single year.

If anything, he should throw something up on his site.. some music.. cause i'm tellin ya.. musicology fell on its face with me... maybe i'll pick back up on it later.. Reflection was the only thing I took to heart.. and that was way before Musicology was released.. It was a nice musical kick for me in 04.. for a moment, but little did I know it would be one of the worst years of music (for me at least)...in some time.

honestly? the most practical decsion to sell more records is to make a one/two disk live set of this last tour highlighted with Hits...

thats about the only thing i can think of.. dont think the media will approach a new record this quick with the response of his last album..

it was a nice nod in his career anyhow...

It is a great song and it will get
some airplay on pop radio channels in Europe.
The next one should be 'What do U want me 2 do'
for the R&B charts in the U.S.

Which video was in black and white? Cinnamon Girl had the most gorgeous colours of any Prince video I've seen in a long time.

This is a great song, but I really was hoping for a single of dear Mr. Man. I think that would be a good hit on RB stations.
As far as pop/rock, I would prefer the marrying kind.
Million days has the same sound and vibe of Cinnamon Girl. confused

I guarantee that for every single song on Musicology, there'd be some complaining that he picked it as a single.

I am just speculating here, but, don't you think that maybe the "million day's"
video might be placed on the rumoured musicology dvd?
don't really see a reason to keep promoting the musicology album.
if the musicology tour dvd is gonna be done right(if it's gonna be done at all),
they need to put all of the promo videos on the dvd.

Yeah, it is great that he is making new videos, but almost nobody in Europe don't no anything about his Musicology album and tour.

I don't think that MTV and VH1 Europe have played Cinnamon Girl which has a good video. Musicology tour should continue in Europe this summer, maybe that's why he is still releasing singles from the album.

That's the problem today. Eveything is so damn mellow. Someone needs to come along and break this trend and get us back to jamming. If not Prince, then someone. That's why today's youth is more obese than ever before. Their music is too damned slow to shake the fat off their asses.

Well if you want someone to break the trend and go back to jamming, Million Days is not the answer. Million Days is not jamming, cool song but nothing to jam to. I've mentioned before on here that I DJ during the week, and each time I play What Do You Want Me To Do, I see the heads bobbin and get asked all the time what Prince album is that on. When I say Musicology most can't belive it because they think it's some old school Prince. WDYWMTD should definately be the next single. No question about it.

No, "A Million Days" isn't exactly a jamming track but it is totally different from anything else on the radio today. Something needs to become a hit, especially on R&B radio, with absolutely no hip hop influence whatsoever. A ballad is not the answer because they have always been around and will probably still be around after we are all dead and gone.

"Cinnamon Girl" was a good rock jam, but of course, R&B never played it because it was rock. This wasn't the case back in the day, especially with Prince. "Let's Go Crazy" was a rock track and got plenty of R&B airplay. R&B was more accepting to it simply because it was Prince, who was well loved at the time.

There's nothing wrong with "What Do You Want Me To Do", I personally like the track, but a ballad is not going to change anything on radio whatsoever. Something different needs to be a single so people can change things. All today's youth knows is ballads and midtempo music because that's what the radio has shoved down their throats for 15 years. That's what they've grown up on. A lot of older people have heard nothing but mess from the radio for years and eventually been conditioned into liking it also because there is no alternative out there for them to listen to. As a music lover, I have tons and tons of old records and CDs so I turn the radio off and listen to records before I give in to radio's mess. The average person doesn't have the record collection I have so they have no choice but to listen to the radio. And I, myself, crave something new that is good.

It's radio's fault that music is in the shape it is in today. If someone (it doesn't even have to be Prince) put out a jam that was totally different and radio shoved it down people's throats like they have been shoving junk down people's throats for years, people would eventually start to like it and we could get back on the right track. It could happen because a lot of the people that used to talk about how much they hated all the midtempo, hip hop style songs years ago, have sold out to them and are now listening to them and actually liking them. If you cram something down the average listener's throat long enough, they will eventually like it. It's about time for some new throat cramming to take place.

I can see this song having potential for some measure of commercial appeal, but quite frankly, I think it's time to move on from the Musicology project.
