BBC Radio 1 are asking the listeners to vote for the greatest number one ever.

'The Most Beautiful Girl In The World' is the only Prince song you can vote for. You can only vote once, and once you do they'll send you an e-mail confirming your vote, which you have to reply to for your vote to be counted.

Some strange choices on that site. I couldn't help it. I couldn't vote for TMBGITW, so I voted for a Beatles song.

I can't vote for it either, I hate this song with a passion. I couldn't believe my ears when I first heard it, what a sappy mess! I think that was one of the moments that I was ready to give up on Prince.

O.K. TMBGITW is not his masterpiece, but not as bad as some other fillers you can find on nearly every LP. And there´s a quite good EP with 7 versions of this song. E.g. the instrumental "Sexy Staxophone and Guitar" is cool & funky.
