The Lovesexy Videos

I'm really starting to love the album. It only took me about 5 listens for me 2 start to really love it. Now, I feel so jealous that i wasn't at the concert back in 1988. I heard that it was one of his greatest concerts. I heard that there vere 2 videos of the concerts- one was the "greatest hits" part of the show and the second was the spiritual "Lovesexy"-inspired part of the show. I really want 2 check it out. Can anyone tell me the insight on the videos?
Check me out and add me on:

They're on VHS and you godd probably still order them in from your local record store. They come in two parts and the show is brilliant!

“Lovesexy ‘88” 2VHS. Live at Westfalenhalle, Dortmund. Germany. 9th September 1988

I remember watching this on TV, i think it was broadcast live in the UK. I was blown away. It must've been like attending a carnival with that 'in the round' approach. There was always something happening. I wish Prince would do another show like that. You know play the hits, then play tracks from the album he's supposed to be promoting.

This was broadcast live over Europe in Sept 88 (the Channel 4 show Wired showed it in the UK-i still have it on VHS complete with adverts). This was at the time when Prince was almost at God status in the UK (the Nude Tour after this sold out 22 nights of Wembley Arena!!!).
It was more Part 1-darker Prince (Bob George, Sister, Head...Camille stuff)
Part 2-spiritually enlightened Prince (The Cross, Lovesexy...the version of Purple Rain is probably the best i've heard crowdwise)

Absolutely mezmerising concert. Probably the one that made me a fan for life.

co sign

I watched it about a week ago and it still buzzes me. He is so incredible in that show. I could start mentioning highlights but from beginning to end its so full of them I wouldn't know where to begin. Things that amazed me last time I watched were the number of spins he does in Housequake, the boy doesn't stop moving, and I love the audience in this show, especially where everyone are flicking their lights on and off to the beat in Head. yes

I think it is great too. I prefer the second half though. "glamslam" "lovesexy" "eye know".....I love them tracks.....

"glamslam" was a music video, as it was a single, BUT despite it being a concert clip, it is not from the VHS version of the show. Prince seemed to make the stage and props the same but included some violinists and the gameboy backing dancers doing some moves.....

I like the music video.....despite it being very much like the concert VHS!

PAL, I'm sure. That's the only way you'll find them in 2 parts.

If you look hard enough, you can find it on DVD.

omfg Oops. Did I just say that out loud just now?

I love the vid, but why has noone mentioned that the production values are shit - both sound and visuals?
