The outfit was the best of the evening, hands down. I, too, am glad he didn't wear one of his pseudo-Godfather suits tonight. Only our guy could pull off something like this; I think it was a great choice. I wonder if, after seeing Prince on that stage tonight in that outfit, Mel Gibson was thinking ".....damn, he looks just like Jesus...maybe I should have cast Prince as...."

I say he gets a 9. It was like a pleasant blast of his old-school persona. So few people -- especially males -- could get away with that outfit, even if they're famous. He totally knows it, and he worked that fact.

I'd have given him a 10, but the chest hair looked gross and distracting behind the medallion.

As others have said he really did look like this serene angel 2nite...especially because of the hood and medallion and damn that voice too hot! Nobody in the that room but Prince could pull off that look and be so hot yet understated

My Observations:

1.) P DID enjoy the loudest and longest standing ovation of the night and his entrance was Super Smooth. NOBODY else was given similar treatment or attention to their entrance.

2.) Some may not agree but i think he was the coolest celebrity on stage by not responding to every random scream, shriek, and I LOVE YOU!! and not trying too hard to impress the crowd;I mean unlike many others, he doesn't have to cuz his persona speaks for itself.

3.) While i DO like the the smooth/pimp suit look better, he pulled off the white outfit nicely, hood and all( Although it seemed to be a strange throwback to the white robe/hood he wore on the pic on the back of the Emancipation CD booklet. Not exactly but pretty close. Check it out, it seemed to be similar to me anyway.

4.) The rest of the show was crap.

I don't mean to get new age-y up in here, but Prince just has an aura about him that sets him apart from anyone else. It's hard to explain, but he's just so unique. No, I'm not just figuring this out, but seeing him tonight just sorta hammers the point home.
