I LOVE PRINCE I wanted to start a thank you thread. Thanks Prince for staying away from drugs and self-destruction. Thank for being here 25 soon 26 years!!!
I'm sorry board but I'm so sappy and sentimental when it comes to this man because I've been following him since '79. So many legends have dissipated but our man is still here. AND he shut down ALL the haters last year with his GREAT Musicology Tour. With Old Dirty Bastard, Rick James and so many more leaving us I want to send that love out while this man is still here. Again thanks Prince for sharing your talent with all of us all these years. Big-ups to everyone one the board because whether I agree with you or not you ALL share the passion for P's music. Five | |

U know what - there's no reason NOT 2 start another thread like this. I remember on the Tavis Smiley interview last year, he mentioned that people are going 2 have different perceptions of him depending on what side of the fence they're on, and that certainly holds true on the ORG. But in the end, it's all about the MUSIC - the one thing that REALLY matters more than anything. And that, my friends, is why I love Prince.

this is such a sweet thread and i completely agree...we need 2 see more of these threads around here, enough with the hatin man... Prince...thank u 4 everything...you're such an inspiration musically and artistically your music keeps me going when i never thought i could keep on truckin...your music is like a big warm hug 
and damn it, being on this org is so awesome cuz i know im not alone anymore in what i think

Wow!! It's rare I get to see one of these over here! I'd better get mine in quick!
What else can I say, Prince has been making me happy for than 25 years, there's more love in my heart for him than some folks I share blood with! Last year was absolutely fantasic...I can't wait to see what he has up his well groomed sleeve this year! Whatever it is, I'm down for the cause! | |

I love the point made about staying away from drugs and self-destruction. I remember during high school everyone else was into bands like Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins and Metalica etc. Although I'm not putting them down (I actually like some of their music), but that whole scene seemed really down. It was like it was cool to be depressed! I was mainly into Jazz during that point, it was sort of the only other alternative. Suddenly I discovered this  character and all his music seemed to be filled with this really positive upbeat vibe. He music (as well as the man himself  ) makes me happy, laugh, sigh etc... He should definitely be celebrated for his brilliance & longevity. He is most definitely THE TRUE FUNK SOLDIER
