THE RAINBOW CHILDREN V LOVESEXY Doubtless this is an old debate.
Raise your hand for LOVESEXY ! ! ! ! ! ! Musically more interesting, adventerous and joyful! serious yet light hearted. All that heavy reading P did for the RC really made its way onto that disc. I never play it and the art is spooky. Lovesexy always gets a spin sooner or later, like now people! How come those tracks don't make the live shows? (other than alphabet street of course!) Who wouldn't like to hear eye no & Lovesexy live???!! | |

I really wanna vote 4 Lovesexy, but i The rainbow children is my favourite prince album, I dnt fink prince will ever make a album as strong as this again, but thats just me.
I fink this because i was around in 1988, so I missed all that, though lovesexy is 1 of my fav's it just dnt beat TRC! Keenmeister |

I guess logically you would rather goto a concert playing all Rainbow Children rather then Lovesexy? VOTE PEOPLE! Live concert of LOVESEXY or RAINBOW CHILDREN ? ? ? I respect the quality of Rainbow Children and ONA was some of the best but LOVESEXY has more life and soul IMHO. | |

**Awaits responses of "Lovesexy saved my life" and "Some ppl just don't get it."**
This might just be me, but I think Rainbow Children is decidedly better. TRC has a beautifully organic sound with a brilliant band making all the songs sound inspired and expertly played, whereas Lovesexy sounds too squeaky clean. Both have some gems to them. TRC has songs like Sensual Everafter and Last December, Lovesexy's got ones like Anna Stesia and I Wish U Heaven. Lovesexy is much less preachy, but TRC ends on a much higher, impactful note. TRC has that narrator that annoys ppl (but a unique touch I actually like), Lovesexy has the one long track. Basically, both have their flaws, but TRC is just a little more inspired and original an album imo. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.

TRC wins the race!
I love both albums, they belong to Prince's best work ever, but I think TRC is more mature. Lovesexy basically is "Love is God, God is Love". Strong, wonderful message, but pretty simple, although resulting in a wonderful, lively, positive mood all over the record. TRC is deeper, complexer, more experimental, and the concept album character is more pointed out. In one sentence: you can hear that he was 30 when making Lovesexy and 43 when recording TRC.  | |

The Rainbow children is overall more ACCOMPLISHED, but LOVESEXY MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER,
The Rainbow Children is too introspective. My favourite track on LOVESEXY IS POSITIVITY- the whole thing but the guitar, wailing away underneath. Never seems to use/play in that way anywhere else, cloesest is Empty Room. One of his greatest tracks ever- and I mean the version shown on the Gold Tour- that version never released!! | |

Lovesexy is one of the weakest Prince album to me. I even think new power soul would win against Lovesexy! As for TRC lyrics I just don't get them so I don't mind!
