eek

Then what do you look for in a P album? When he was first releasing these in '01, it felt like he was going back to sounding like the old Prince.

There is no tracklisting for 'High', any tracklisting you see is fake.

There are 2 tracklistings for 'High' that keep getting quoted, so I'll just
take a minute to debunk them both...

1...
Vavoom / U Make My Sun Shine / My Medallion / When Will We B Paid? /
Supercute / Underneath The Cream / Golden Parachute / The Daisy Chain /
Gamillah / High / When Eye Lay My Hands On U

- This one is 100% pure fan invention. Prince never sequenced an album
with this tracklist at all. I think the main reason it refuses to die is
because a couple of bootlegs with this tracklist were made, and it keeps
getting posted on websites by fans.

2...
Supercute / Underneath The Cream / When Will We B Paid? / The Daisy Chain /
Gamillah / High / Golden Parachute / My Medallion / U Make My Sun Shine /
When Eye Lay My Hands On U

- This one stems from a misunderstanding about a CDR that Prince used to
play in clubs to guage audience reaction to the songs. It was a sampler of
various tracks from a few projects he was working on at the time including
'High' and 'Peace'. The Daisy Chain and Gamillah were from the unreleased
'Peace' album (credited to the NPG rather than Prince) and were never
included on any incarnation of 'High'. The reason this tracklist persists
is because it was announced that Femi had delivered a copy of the new
(as yet untitled) Prince album to Paisley Park. Then when it announced that
the new album was called 'High', coupled with the discovery of the tracklist
for the sampler CDR Prince was using in clubs, people assumed they were
the same thing.

The truth is that there was a sequence made for 'High' at one point, but
the exact tracklisting has never leaked out, but whatever it was it wouldn't
have included The Daisy Chain or Gamillah, and probably wouldn't have
included 1 or 2 other tracks from the above tracklists.

The album has no flow whatsoever... although if the official sequence of the tracklisting was never leaked then that kinda explains why.

It's fun okay for an unreleased record. When Eye Lay My Hands On U being the best... I love the part where he emulates Santana!

U Make My Sunshine is also goregeous. But Vavoom and High are two of the weakest P tracks I've ever heard....

The songs come from Prince's NPG Music Club via subscription. But you also get them in the Matrix from a bald guy wearing shades and his "followers." Just watch out for the glitches.

No, the "High" tracks were much much better.
