There was an article in some German magazine during the European leg of the Lovesexy tour and it mentioned how pleased Prince was when he saw that some guy in charge of things had organized a gym for him...I´ll probably look it up later and post it..

He probably doesn't have to do much to gain muscle definition and tone when he wants to. First, he's a vegan so his diet is excellent for keeping in shape - no fat to make him gain weight. Second, he's probably genetically predisposed to be slender and easily gain muscle. Some people are just lucky like that. I do prefer him with some muscle definition, though. It's sexy.

The only time that I remember seeing him and really saying "Wow, he looks kind of buffed" was when the MY NAME IS PRINCE video came out. His biceps were a little more defined then before.

I don't know lately.... his arms looked a little soft when he wore that sleeveless top on Ellen last summer...

Also, on the Tavis Smiley show he was saying that nobody wants to see old skin now, it should be covered up. I thought that was something to say, though he looks fine(just not fantabulous from a musculature point of view).

Again, more proof that he is human. He's got his hands full with music and his new wife. At some point your priorities shift. We need to give him a break. I'm sure he works out some. The older you get, the more work it takes and sometimes you're just not up to it. Whew.

Well, if he ever gets out of shape for any length of time, all he has to do is go put on some shows. With as much energy and motion as he burns up during his shows, he must burn something like 5,000 calories per night.

True, no doubt, but if he only takes in 3,000 calories of vegan food he will disappear before our very eyes boxed

Ah, yeah I think you are right about the Lovesexy era. He did look more buffed up. I didn't particularly like it though. I thought his body looked perfect during the Purple Rain era and expecialy during the Nude tour. He didn't look too buff or too skinny. I think he plays basketball alot and his dancing burns those calories. P has to get that cardio in!

Keep in mind that strong muscles come and go, sometimes it´s a matter of a couple of days...as far as I know, muscles need stimulation ( work out) at least every 64 hours, or else they start going back slowly...the other thing is that you also need rest, 24-48 hours, depending on your routine...Prince is in perfect shape, all it takes is more carbs and protein for him to look like teb years ago...and he does look extremely muscular and young in some recent pictures.
I´m 14 years younger than Prince, work out regularly, and my look changes every couple of weeks, depending on my eating habits, sleep and work out routine, so give the man a break lol
He´s alright, he´s kool and, with his strong discipline, excels and shines in more fields than music .I´m glad about the way things are these days.
Last time I was in the states, I didn´t work out for a month and a lot of muscle tissue naturally shrinked a bit, same when I don´t take enough protein ( I used to be a vegetarian, now I eat fish once a week for health reasons).

It would be interesting to see what the people who´re speculating about Prince´s muscles actually look like lol ...

Alas, I am humbled. blackeye I am in no great shape myself. But Prince is a deity with fans like us staring at him under a microscope. He still looks good, though. It was nice to see him poking fun at himself and his "old skin".
lol

Trust me, its a nightmare to build muscle when you are vegan and dont eat that much...where does your protein come from? Ive been trying for about a year in the gym, I weight 10 stones,im all skin n bones and Ive only just managed a 6-pack

I had the same experience...of course a vegan diet is beneficial for you, depending on what you want.
But if you seriously want to get stronger you have to increase your carb and protein intake.
When I started eating fish again I noticed a huge difference even though I worked out less than back in the days when I was a true vegetarian.
I would never try to convince or persuade people to change their eating habits, that´sup to them and every person reacts differently, but there are some pros and cons to both sides.
For instance, I used to eat tons of tofu and soy products, and I still do occasionally, but I reduced it after doimg some research about tofu and soya in general.
And, on top of that, I found an article in which Buddhist monks were praising the benefits of following a vegan, tofu based diet, and one of their main points was that it decreased their sex drive dramatically...good thing when you´re a monk who´s not supposed to have sex, bad thing if you´re Kool Eaze, the ladies man.. lol
Personally, I couldn´t really notice a difference between my "vegetarian years" sex drive and my " started eating fish again" times, but maybe it has to do with the fact that I always ate lots of cheese and eggs, so I wasn´t a vegan .
I still don´t eat red meat, chicken or any other animals and make sure I only eat fish that´s not overfished, but I can feel a general increase in wellbeing, don´t know why.
I saw some macrobiotic cook on TV, and he claimed to be a vegetarian, but also said that it´s necessary for him to eat fish sometimes , because of energy and blablabla, hormones etc.
Again, I ´m not saying it´s not possible to live a healthy vegetarian life, but there are some things about it that made me reevaluate my diet.
The main thing for me is to find out for yourself what´s good for you and be conscious at the same time.
Dogmatic thinking, fanatics and vegan fascists were never really my thing, even though I respect their points.
By the way, Kate Bush also started eating fish again...
I think a more conscious approach is much better than dogmatic phases in your life.
The question is whether you just want to live, or survive, or live out your physical and mental potential to its fullest.
There´s also another. long and medical story why I started eating fish again, but I don´t want to stray from the topic.
