NTSC on PAL TVs - I'm thinking of buying this, but can anyone tell me how NTSC dvds look on PAL TVs (I'm in the UK)? I know that your dvd player has to be able to handle R1/NTSC dvds, etc - but do they actually look any different/worse than R2 ones, and do you actually notice?

The video encoding on a DVD doesn't matter if it's NTSC or PAL. I think you'd only have a problem if your DVD player is linked to your telly via an old-school RF (aerial) cable. If you have a SCART connection, RGB connection or S-Video connection to your telly, you'll be fine.

The bigger problem is region encoding but most players are hackable.

Hmm, does he actually own/control it??

I should think he owns it, since he produced it without Warners help. He clearly sold some rights to 'broadcast/publish' it to this other company, originally Cineplex Odeon. But that doesn't mean he couldn't release his own version if he wanted, also.

A bit like, say you took a photograph and you sold the right to a company to publish it. But you still own the original and could publish it yourself if you wanted, depending on the contract you sign.
