Under the Cherry Moon-Overlooked Classic?

BTW I mean the song, NOT the movie. lol

This song is fantastic though. Elegant and haunting. It's a beautiful little gem on Parade. Anyone agree?

Snap

sadly, it gets overlooked on that album of so many good eccentric tunes... i recently put it on a mix-CD with many of Prince's other mellow songs, and i gotta say that "Under The Cherry Moon" really stands out as one of his best -- i love it

Exactly. This song never gets mentioned when ppl defend the brilliance of Parade, and I just don't get that. I think it's one of the best songs on it.

I have one word to describe this song...dull. Now as far as "Under The Cherry Moon, the movie goes, I think it's a great movie with a wonderful story line. I just think it's some of the dullest music of Prince's career.

Parade as a whole is one of his best albums ever. Under the cherry moon is a fantastic song but parade is full of fantastic songs. Sometimes it snows in april is one of my favourite songs of all time.

I don't know how anyone can call Under The Cherry Moon dull. It's so graceful, so haunting, so effortlessly melodic. Just cause it's a slow song doesn't make it boring.

Parade itself is like a beautiful painting.

At first you might look at it with utter confusion, but then the longer you stare into it and truly see it, the more you come to understand what makes it great.

You have to hear Parade for what it is, and not what you expect it to be. IMO That's how you allow yourself to appreciate songs like UTCM.
