Is Prince a Marlon Brando fan?

Hey everyone, I'm usually in GD but I'm venturing into this forum because I wanted to comment on something I've noticed...there seems to be some indication that P is a fan of Marlon Brando. Wondering about if anyone has noticed..
For one thing they are (or were- Brando's dead) the same personality type (Idealist Counselor http://keirsey.com/person.../nfij.html ) which is about 1-2 percent of the population and people are drawn to those of similar personality types to themselves. Also there's the Purple Rain motorcycle usage, which the biker thing was basically started by Brando in "The Wild One" in 1953 or thereabouts. Although of course a lot of people have motorcycles and know nothing about Brando. The main thing that has brought the possibility of P being a fan is the style of the "Sign O the Times" era and Brando's film "Guys and Dolls".

Thoughts? Any other Brando fans in the house besides me?

Interesting thoughts...
Another thing is that both are known for their perfectionism and uncompromising attitude and ego, which might make them difficult to deal with but that´s what being a genius is about, among other things wink .

Also keep in mind that Prince repeatedly referenced the movie " The Godfather" in one way or another ( naming Patricia Kotero Apollonia, like Micheal Corleone´s Sicilian wife, and describing his Typhoon hairdo from ´91-92 as Godfather III meets Barbarella).

I think there must be at least some sort of genuine respect.

nod I definitely think they're the same personality type.

I forgot about the Apollonia thing... and I didn't know about the hairdo...interesting. And the plot thickens *duhn duhn duhn*

I think there must be at least some sort of genuine respect.

Also besides naming Apollonia after the character in the Godfather, the 2nd Madhouse album has samples from the movies.

Brandoness (!) is so pervasive in our culture it's hard to determine whether someone is atually a fan of his in particular or just referencing an icon...

I love Brando, he is the ultimate screen legend. Al Pacino i feel in my opinion is right behind him. They are my Fav actors. Plus I love P too, although I hate P's acting...
I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I've found another..odd...thing...

You know how in "Race" Prince says "in the space I mark human".. Well in Marlon Brando's autobiography he talks about how he got out of going to war in Vietnam- he pretended to be crazy and one of the things he did was filling in his race as "human and his color as "oyster"...

So maybe Prince read about this and was inspired and didn't care about the fact that when Brando did it he was trying to seem crazy... hmmm
