What's the deal with Londell?

A number of you have brought up the issue of Londell McMillan, who I know is his lawyer. He's an important person for Prince, given that he's the one that got him out of that ironclad WarnerBros deal.

It was mentioned that he starting making waves at PP when he first came on board, because of finances at the studio or something.

Can someone elaborate on this?

It's believed he was one of the lawyers who initiated a string of lawsuits/C&D letters against fan sites since the mid 90's. While some sites were offering illegal copies of his music, others simply had pictures of Prince, re-prints of his lyrics, or descriptions of the many bootlegs of his music that have surfaced over the years.

I could understand if someone was taking music of his and posting on their website for free download, but the other reasons were petty and a slap in the face towards people who have spent decades supporting him and his music. They didn't present any real threat towards his income or his image, and most of them were just a celebration of his music.

Thanks, Tom.

I went on the net and I see that he represents a number of black artists (Stevie Wonder,Spike Lee, Roberta Flack for example). While I'm sure he's whooping ass in the board room, I don't any of them have been so funky towards their fans. Probably Prince is just looking to take things to that level. He says what he wants and Londell steady goes for it.

It all seems really insane. If I were Per Nielsen, I'd of had a heart attack from all of my rage. I bet he thought he would be the last person to receive P's scorn.

Just shows what you can get away with when you're an f***in genius!
