Sing O the Time dvd on ebay?

I see this all the time is this a bootleg?
(Gallery image #3880 not found!)
this pic will probably appear in under 24 hrs
If it doesn't fit, it's ugly anyway.

Yes, it's an unofficial Mexican release.

It's a boot.

I don't know why it's not getting more fanfare, but the official one has been released in Canada.

It has to be a CRAPPY release. The thing can play in all regions and has a pic from the PURPLE RAIN era on the front. It may've seemed dumb of me to post this thread but I'd rather ask dumb questions than waste my money. smile

I hope the Canadian release is ok. I saw SOTT on encore yesterday and am in LOVEwith it! I taped it but still want an (official) DVD.

The canadian release looks promising

Hi. Just got home and my SOTT DVD from Amazon.ca was waiting for me as promised. It's official! Right on the front it says "Digitally Remastered in Dolby Digital 5.1" and the back says "ASPECT RATIO: Widescreen (1:78:1) ENHANCED FOR 16x9 TELEVISIONS". I popped it in just to make sure and they weren't lying! It's an Alliance-Atlantis Region 1 NTSC DVD and if you've been wanting a high-quality widescreen official release of SOTT, THIS IS IT!! It seems to only be available in Canada but you can all order it through Amazon.ca since they ship internationally...

Peace.

I know. To me it all adds up:

The movie has been shown in high definition on cable for the last two months
The film was originally released by Canada's Cineplex Odeon/MCA (Universal)
The dvd is released by Alliance Atlantis (which owns Cineplex Odeon, or bought them out)/Universal
Neither of the other releases were tied to Universal nor did they have a widescreen release.
The fact that Canada is the only country with this release leads me to believe there have been problems all along with the distribution rights in other countries.

Mine will be here soon. I'm just glad to have a region 1 version of this.

I work at a CD/DVD store in Canada, and my location already received a copy, which goes on sale Jan 25. Needless to say I have it reserved for me to purchase that day!!!!
