I think Prince needs 2 hire a fan....... OK, here's a little something I was thinking about, what do y'all think....
Prince should hire one of his fans 2 work with him- someone who he can turn 2 and ask questions about what he is doing (eg- is that song any good/should I release this on DVD, etc) That way he would get good, honest advice on things he is doing- advice which I'm sure he hasn't had in the past (Chaos & Disorder anyone?) Imagine if Prince could ask U and U had authority to advise on certain releases, what would 2005 be like: Jan. New album on major record Label, Prince hits the charts and gets on the radio/TV Feb.. Releases an exclusive NPGMC internet album Mar/April Tour 4 the new albums May Major TV interview, broadcast worldwide June DVD Release of recent tour July NPGMC members get an exclusive 4 track EP available 4 download Aug 3 DVD Box Set of D&P, Gold Experience & Nude tours Sep More TV appearances Oct "An Evening with Prince" airs on MTV. Prince plays live 2 an audience of 200 people. It is a very intimate gig with Prince playing mostly acoustic versions of old & new songs Nov Prince re-records Purple Rain with Beyonce Knowles- The single is released thru a major record label Dec Prince plays a new year concert which is also streamed live on NPGMC [b][b]So...How would ur2005 if u had a little say in what he does? please let me know y'all

Yes! And I'm available Prince. I'll keep it real. But I need at least 50,000 a year with benifits and all expenses paid for travelling.

Hell no! The last thing Prince needs to do is hire a fan. Prince has fans with a wide variety of tastes that other fans don't like. If he were to hire a fan, we might end up with every album being like "The Truth". Andy is a four letter word.

prince needs to fire his entire staff and let a third party business savy person (like herb alpert or quincy jones) select non yes men to manage his business..
secondly, dont listen to mani.....you are equals in your relationship but not in your careers...let her school you on the bible but dont let her dictate career choices.. thirdly, work with people who have the balls to tell you you are full of shit...ever notice how wendy and lisa were sent a demo of "in this bed i scream", contributed arrangments yet they never ended up on the final song? sure sure, the contributions could have sucked....however, something tells me that prince is really lacking from peer senergy....get him in a room with lisa, doctor fink, andre cymone and others who were there before "prince" blew up....have susan rogers engineer it and have them all put prince's ego in check....prince's album productions have been his own worst enemy of late....it kills what end up being beautiful and energized songs performed in concert....he needs to be surrounded by senergy to thrive....not so that he can steal or learn from these people...but so that he can be challenged and inspired..... i thought it was telling that rhonda b sat her tired ass down the entire final show of the Musicology Tour (in san jose)...how is that gonna inspire you to record the next classic tune? what would it be called? "heffa on a couch"? imsickandsillyedit... [Edited 1/1/05 17:27pm] Space for sale...

I'm not greedy (all of the time). actually, yes i do....alan leeds has been very upfront about what prince has been screwing up on over the years...wendy and lisa told prince , "pass", when he wanted to do a reunion with the three of them in purple rain get-up running through the audience..... you see, where you are misguided is in thinking im interested in the musical output that would come out of a meeting of these minds... oh no, not at all...im more interested in the personal growth that would come from prince being told, "ehhh..no, thats shit". not that many people can do that...miles did it, and was the reason their collaberations will never see the light of day....but far to many of prince's current collaberators are too awestruck to tell him when his shit stinks...and its been stinking a lot...barring the masterful concert tour (which IMHO was great, but still a vegas revue....) he has yet to return to that awe inspiring "recorded" contribution that we all know is in him.... bjork, has created such a grounded personality that artist feel welcome to contribute and collaberate with her..as if its "their" work..with prince, after the first npg break-up..its pretty much been him him him...and his albums have lacked a certain vitality to make them classics.... You do know that Fink isn't a real doctor don't you? If Prince's personal growth is truly what you're worried about and not the musical output, which I find hard to believe, Wendy, Lisa, and Andre Cymone aren't the answers. As for his albums not being classics and lacking vitality that's a matter of opinion. His only true undisputable classic is Purple Rain and it wasn't a collaborative effort. He had been progressing to that point and whether it was Wendy, Lisa, or me there with him it would have been great. The collaboration came on subsequent albums whose merits are arguably no better than The Rainbow Children and Musicology. Your Bjork comparison doesn't really apply because she has always relied on production help. Sure it would be nice if Prince didn't make his bonehead moves but any artist must have the freedom to do as they wish. Creating those special moments is swing and miss.

Prince shouldn't hire a fan -there's too much variation in tastes in the fandom to make even a fraction of the people happy.
What Prince needs to do is have someone around him to tell him when he's being a dumbass. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

Creating those special moments is swing and miss. yes...and for the most part prince's album's have been misses for the last decade.lets not kid ourselves, Musicology is no where near the level of a Parade or Lovesexy.....A thread was created if Musicology would be on their top five list of albums for the year and the majority answered no..Its the touring that had rekindled the love for the lil man.... and to clarify my personal vs musical statement..what i meant was that prince is challenged personally when he is surrounded by peers that resulted in his best music (on wax). and prince has always surrounded himself with musical talent....andre, morris, jesse when he was starting out.....did you know lisa now has admitted she collaberated in writing a good portion of the first two The Time albums? it makes me wonder if the whole "written, produced and arranged by" wasnt just a marketing gimmick and/or those others around who helped out were dumb enough not to demand more recongition for their contributions... but anyways, who's arround now to say, "yo prince...those candy vocals on 'life o the party' are wack! why not throw ask qwen stefani and jill jones over to mix and balance it out?"
