this day in Prince history I know for a fact that Prince played a New Years Eve concert from Paisley Park in 87 going in to 88 because I have it on DVD.

Per The Vault, Prince did indeed play a show at PP that night, a benefit for the Minnesota Coalition for the Homeless. Performing were Prince and the SOTT tour lineup, plus Miles Davis for a bit. "I would say that Prince's top thirty percent is great. Of that thirty percent, I'll bet the public has heard twenty percent of it." - Susan Rogers, "Hunting for Prince's Vault", BBC, 2015

The one with the Auld Lang Syne/Purple Rain balloon-rope fiasco? Great set! I only have the CD of it though.
