Biggest Comeback...Prince, Ray Charles, or Brian Wilson?

There is no doubt that 2004 was a huge year for P, with a top-ranked tour, massive exposure in the press and on TV, etc. Yet, many year-end polls that I have come across cite either Ray Charles or Brian Wilson as being the comeback artist of the year and not P. Definitely the loss of Ray Charles was huge for the music industry and his comeback album has sold well. Also, his bio film did feature what will probably be the Best Actor Oscar winner in Jamie Foxx. Brian Wilson released "Smile", the much rumored about Masterpiece that he has been hiding for decades and the critics loved it. But, despite the success of these two artists, didn't Prince have the biggest year? And wasn't his comeback, deemed impossible by many (even diehard fans like myself) the biggest surprise? What do y'all think? Who had the biggest comeback in 04?

Hint: It wasn't Lionel Richie.

Yes, Prince had the biggest year. He successfully milked his past and got the cream. I hope the success of the toothless, by-numbers "Musicology" doesn't inspire him to cut the same kind of record again.

I don't consider Musicology to be his comeback since he was never gone, he kept on releasing albums.
