Prince has a lot of funky joints. "Get Wild", "Hide The Bone", "D.M.S.R", "Erotic City", "She's Always In My Hair", "Housequake", "Lady Cab Driver", "PartyMan", "New Power Generation (pt.2)", We Can Funk", "Gett Off", "Daddy Pop", "Push", "The Contionental", "The Max", "The Sacrifice Of Victor", "Rock Hard In A Funky Place", "Return Of The Bump Squad", "Now", "Face Down", "Soft & Wet", "Sexy Dancer", "Party Up", "Space"(Funky Stuff mix),...I could go on...BUT...The quintessential Prince funk song would be LET'S WORK. I believe this song contains all the elements of Prince-funk. Solid drums, tight bass line, synth horns and Prince's falsetto screams & sex, sex, sex. If I only had to choose ONE, that would be it, but if I was making a compilition of funky Prince songs...I'd start with the list above. | |
