Gold Experience 12"

I have a Gold Experience 12" on Gold(amber) vinyl(not black) covering 2 discs. It has a serial # on the front of a cardboard brown sleeve with the liner notes by John Bream on a sticker on back. I'm not trying to sell this, I just want to find out if it is rare or limited editin or summin like that. I bought for $40 I think at Groove Time records in San Bernardino. Did I get ripped off or did they get ripped off. Lemme know.

I have one as well. . .I think I paid a little less for mine on Ebay. This is the promo version, there were 10,000 pressed according to Sleevographia:

Is it rare? Not terribly, but I still think it is a worthwhile collector's item. Uptown simply says: "The actual album itself [PRO-A-7835], meanwhile, was only released as a double 12-inch, this time on gold/translucent yellow vinyl with side four featuring five mixes of "Eye Hate U." [Uptown, Winter 2001-2002, #50]

Does this help?

Looks like I kond of got ripped off according to sleevographia, but I don't care. It's amy favorite Prince album and is worth the extra couple-o-bucks.
