How many artists are in Prince? Prince isn't just his own, he's sampled and borrowed styles and ideas from his favorite artists.
Without question I see Jimmy Hendrix and James Brown in the Purple One. Working up a purple sweat.

I'd say that there are hints of Thelonious Monk and Curtis Mayfield there as well. Good night, sweet Prince | 7 June 1958 - 21 April 2016

All of us. To clarify:
I believe that I am inspired by anyone who spends a portion of their day being creative. I have an overall respect for art in a general sense. I believe Prince too is the type of person who is not only inspired by other musicians, but by authors, painters, speakers, architects, journalists ("Billy!" *couldn't resist*), dancers, photographers, etc, etc. Anyone who does something creative is an inspiration to me. I like to think that Prince and I have that in common.
