Hey, the Rave 2000 DVD was not that bad... ....in fact, it was quite good. I was watching it at a friend's house this past weekend, and I enjoyed it. He was still the man that he is now, and he was still rocking it out with all his NPG asnd Minneapolis crew.
ROCK ON, PRINCE! So why is there all this hate for the DVD? Or do Prince fans need to bit h about something? NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

A lotta people were unhappy with the special effect used by the director and cameraman that made everything look jumpy jerky.Thats what I have heard....the performance is slamming

I don't know why people don't like it either.
Granted I have to skip over "The Christ," but other than that, I think he shows his continued GUITAR DOMINANCE in this performance. Lovesexy Funkateer

part of the problem with it is that the crowd are really lame and it seems to lack excitement and atmosphere. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

I also didn't like the extended Family Stone Reunion Tour. Gotta skip that one.
And I was disappointed in the end. There's that strange bit where he shows the Greatest Romance video and cuts to live. I also thought it was a sad send-off for 1999's last performance. It didn't look like ANYONE was that jazzed about playing it or hearing it. That being said, I love the guitar playing throughout and, althought those blue and brown jump suits were horrible, I liked his hair and makeup! I've gone to find myself. If I should return before I get back, keep me here.

You wait outside for 5 or 6 hours in 10 degree weather with a subzero windchill and we'll see how excited you are. Prince just wouldn't open the damn doors.

I love the DVD for both AC-3 sound and the performances. Top muthafuckin' notch.
Suck on my skinbag naysayers! I say suck on it! If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Suck on my skinbag naysayers! I say suck on it! OK...but you have to at least admit that his outfit was made out of melted blue Hot Wheels and he stole his hair from Fez on That 70s Show. I once borrowed this DVD to my brother. At the same time I was also borrowing him my copy of the South Park movie. What I said as I gave them to him was something that I never thought I would be able to say about a Prince movie: "You're 4-year old son can watch the Prince movie, but he can't watch the cartoon"
What's the use of being young if you ain't gonna get old

So, You see him live on stage monthly, right? I've never had the chance... ...so I wouldn't give a damn about the weather!!!

I like it, jump cuts & all. Anything w/ closeups of P w/ long hair & a beard???
The only thing that really sucked was the use of the dancer footage. Not that she was bad, I just didn't give a fuck. Why cut to her when you can stay on P NEXT!! . [Edited 12/7/04 22:06pm]

I know that story and I place no blame on the crowd. I'm just stating facts. The crowd is as flat as a shitcarters hat. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

Wouldn't that make you REALLY happy to finally get in there? I'm interested since you were there though - was it any good from your perspective, because I have to say that it's the worst live performance of P I have ever seen and the only one I don't enjoy watching ever. Some of my mates who I was in a band with saw it on TV and I was so embarassed after I had bigged him up as a live performer, they saw that and never again believed a word I said!

I like the concert alot. But I always skip the Larry performance. Also those dancers onstage annoy me, but P makes up for ll of that, because hes amazing. Seeing him do the splits in that tight outfit make it worth while. Did you order a pizza ma'am? Prince- UTCM

I thought it started really badly…didn’t get moving until the Time took the stage.
Looking through the DVD, I couldn’t help but think there was still more I was missing???

The ones who are willing to stand outside in the cold for so long are the ones who would have been pumped to be there and would have been a great crowd!

i was there....and i thought it was ok...but it was really nothing like a real "CONCERT" it was a pretty stged event...lots of starts and stops.....breaks and prince leaving stage and stopping songs cause the floor was a lil wet....ect.and the lenny segment sucked !!!!!

I found it quite embarrassing to watch. Only really liked She Is Always In My Hair. RIP Prince: thank U 4 a funky Time...

I love Larry's bass playing in U Got The Look
She's Always In My Hair is another highlight...I seldom watch it now but when I do I skip The Time's performance and much of Lenny's as well...not that the performances are bad, they just have a very dated feel to them.
