disc three is among my second tier of favorites - i wouldn't put it up there with my favorite favorites, but i think that disc in the set is pretty solid. sometimes i get in the mood for disc one, but there's some stuff on there i think is pretty wretched, too...disc two is painful for me to listen to on several levels, though it has 'holy river' and 'joint 2 joint', so it's salvageable for me.

you know what, i wouldn't say any song from musicology is a favorite of mine, but from beginning to end, i never wanna go for the skip button. it's a really solid album from beginning to end. i think it's gonna gain some value in his back catalog as time goes by. nod

U know, Parade actually might trump Purple Rain for me right now.

I love the way the album swings from ferociously uptempo to classically soft with funk scatterred all over the place, and clocking in at only 41 minutes!

classic.

Chocolate Invasion ranks up there with ANYTHING that he has done. The music is fresh and just about every track is listenable. TGE is by far the most complete album done with different tracks to satisfy all tastes, but CI should have been released....its that good!!!

Tie between Purple Rain and SOTT. Yes I know those are the ones nearly everybody calls his best, but I think that ther's plenty of good reason for that. Purple Rain is the tightest collection of songs he's ever released as far as I'm concerned and SOTT is almost as good for nearly twice as long.

Hey, man, like can't you read? Both Sign and Purple aren't allowed on this list.

Hey, I'm hardly the only person who's failed to adhere to that rule razz .

But next to those I would have to say Around the World in a day, Lovesexy, Rainbow Children and Parade
