Jamie Starr & Ziggy Boy There are a few things about my 2 fave ones - Prince & Bowie I am curious to know!
Can I count on you guys? Okay, here they come... 1. Have they ever met (I mean have they ever had a conversation about anything)? 2. (If they have met) has anybody got any kind of picture both of them (together)? 3. What do they think about each other's music, art, career, etc...? 4. Has Prince ever listened to Bowie records when he was a teenager? Thanx 4 your reply - I hope you will... [Edited 12/27/04 5:26am]

actually, prince and bowie were kinda tight in the late 80's.
when bowie's "glass spider" tour came to minneapolis in 1987, prince went to every show(i think 3 shows)after the shows they partied at paisley park, prince showed bowie his channhassen mansion and prince rented out the local theater in channhassen to give bowie and his crew a private screening of sign o' the times!

Prince was always into David Bowie. Prince got the androgyny, glam look, make up from Bowie. Prince was a new waver. He was a rebel. Dez Dickerson was glam rock. Prince attended David Bowie's 50th birthday celebration concert at Madison Square Garden on January 9th 1997. David Bowie has said that 1999 is his favourite album. Goodnight, sweet Prince.

Come to think of it, in many ways that is who Prince reminds me of NOW as he's matured. David is settled and married to Iman. Prince is doing the same being settled and married to Mani. Their styles are very similar in dress, etc. They are both cool, calm, collected and yet classy. "Money won't buy you happiness but it sure will pay for the search"

Bowie cited Prince in The song ZEROES(Never let me down 1987) read Lyrics.... ZEROES [Ladies and Gentlemen [Tonight, yes, the Zeroes will be singing for you!] Yeah Yeah (x4) You've arrived in the land of a thousand different names And the fabulous sons have crashed their planes in flames Now tomorrow's back claiming redemption is on your heels And a toothless past is asking you how it feels And me my little red Corvette has driven by My fair weather heart has fallen in My rainy day girl is feeling down And she tells me that the world is spinning round I say the dream was all for you You're nobody else Tonight the Zeroes were singing for you Yeah Yeah Yeah Hi, can I walk you home again today Gotta get forgive and forget hey-hey Something good is happening I don't know what it is Don't you know we're back on trial again today And it's breaking wine for you Hell it's only 'cause you're true Someone outtimed my heart Stopping and preaching and letting love in You are my moon, you are my sun Heaven knows what you are Tonight the Zeroes are singing for you Yes they were Tonight the Zeroes were singing for you Tonight the Zeroes were singing for you Doesn't matter what you try to do Doesn't matter what you try to do Doesn't matter where you try to go Doesn't matter who we really are

I saw a concert of the Glass spiders Tour in Sydney. It sucked big time, and was DAMN expensive. What a rip-off! I was SO disappointed. "We've never been able to pull off a funk number"

The 70s for Bowie was like the 80s for Prince. Very creative albums and films. The 80s for Bowie was like the 90s for Prince. The silly Labrinth movie and Prince trying to do hip hop. The 90s was a artistic return for Bowie with Earthling and now Prince has a artistic return with Rainbow Children (& Musicology). Goodnight, sweet Prince.

When fans were allowed to e-mail questions to 0(+> for the original www.dawn.com website (or was it www.thedawn.com whatever... a long time ago) one of the questions was would he consider working together with David Bowie. His answer was simply "U should have been there." So apparently they have done something together in the studio while he was staying in Minneapolis.
