This song took me a while to get into, but now I like it alot. Very inspirational for me. "Life is just a party and parties weren't meant to last"

I think it's fantastic. I see it as a pop lullaby. Yeah, musically it isn't anything he didn't do a million times on SOTT, but it makes you feel really good. [Edited 12/26/04 11:40am] The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.
"You still wanna take me to prison...just because I won't trade humanity for patriotism."

Reminds me a little of MJs "Keep the Faith."
Musically, is it anything great? No. But I love the song too. It's. . . comforting.

It's a nice song, but 'HOLY RIVER' You must be getting bored with some of the Prince Music you have all ready...hehe
But you know, some of his music grows on you at different times, that's how you learn to appreciate some of them more and weed out the ones you really like from the ones you don't like. It took me time to realize which were some of my favorite songs because I either liked all of them or didn't give a chance to others, to then find out a couple of weeks, months, or years later that some of the ones I didn't like are classic to me or I like more than the ones all ready on top of my list...I like 'Wherever U go, it's simple, nice * sweet, but 'Holy River' is no comparison to that one. 'Holy River' was one of the songs I didn't like too to much on first listen, until I realized what a Beautiful song it actually is...

Come on you guys, you're missing the most special thing about this song. Prince sounds more human and more vulnerable than he ever has before or since. That is why I love the song, and he sounds sincere on it.

i like Rave but i cant help but think that Prince was going through a rough patch with Mayte when he wrote the songs. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

i like Rave but i cant help but think that Prince was going through a rough patch with Mayte when he wrote the songs. Of course he was. They were breaking up. That's what makes it a good album. If he had been in that musical place at a less emotional time in his life, the album would have totally sucked. I agree about the humanity and vulnerability, on several tracks on Rave.

it's a perfect pop song, simple but very catchy!
sweet melody, his voice is very soulful!! funky guitar licks too! goddamn i really love it, one of my faves, gets better everytime! and the lyrics are heartfelt: Oh-ooh Wherever U go, whatever U do Oh please, remember that I’ll always be there 4 U U don’t have 2 call, U don’t have 2 say Just think about me and I’ll be on my way I don’t have 2 worry, I’m sure U’ll be fine Cuz if U stay happy, then what’s your’s is mine Wherever U go, whatever U do Remember that I’ll always be there 4 U (Oh Baby) Wherever U R, think of your dreams Oh please, remember life ain’t always what it seems 4 each rainy day (rainy day) That comes your way The sun will come shining and U’ll be okay Keep on smiling - every girl and boy Remember when U were children U had toys Wherever U R, think of your dreams Remember that dreams become the life U lead Whatever U play, it’s okay 2 lose Ooh sometimes (sometimes...) As long as U learn from every game U choose If one thing is sure, U’ll always endure If U try your best at everything U do Say what U mean and mean what U say The price 4 a broken heart - it‘s 2 much 2 pay And nothing is worth it, if U don’t have 2 try The higher the stakes - the higher the sky Wherever U go, whatever U do Please remember Remember that I’ll always be there 4 U

Last December (on Rainbow Children) is the most recent Prince song that does that for me. Goodnight, sweet Prince.

Wherever U go, whatever U do
Please remember Remember that I’ll always be there 4 U[/quote] I liked this lyric so much that I stole it for a song about a child who I don't get to see anymore because adults don't know how to act. Mine's goes And when you're grown and feeling lost and alone, just think of me and I am there.
