I always wondered what grounds they got the anullment on. Its not like divorce and the parties can get one by saying they want one. This is the definition I found on a legal website.

It's interesting. I am hard-pressed to find more than 2 people who even like Mani (whatever that means anyway).

For me, I liked the way the Prince / Mayte relationship was shared with all of us. She was the one who helped him be more comfortable doing interviews and putting himself out there in non-performing situations. In a sense, she gave him to us. In her participation in the band, she and he had a chemistry that we could all witness. Also, it was cool to see him smitten with one woman. Remember, it took him almost20 years of being a player to get to this point.

Mayte is a more sympathetic character because she was so young when she hooked up with him and because of the tragedy of their child's death. Given all of this, Mani never had a chance in terms of our liking her. She has actually, in a way, taken him away from us because she's not as integrated into his work and he has drawn a big bold line between her and it. Plus, let's be honest, we are jealous that a fan, just like us, ended up with him. We have fantasies that it could have been us (at least I do).

Adding to this, Mani comes across as a rather cold person, with a bit of an "evil witch" air about her. But, boy does he look happy when he's with her. I just think that she will make him less accessible from now on. Oh, well.

i agree with you altavista. i mean i prefer mayte, i think she's pretty and seems to be nice. but i think i prefer her to mani, because of the lost child and the way that prince seems to have throw her away. mani seems as an oportunist, but just the image, maybe if mani had married prince later, i would give her a chance before. but i think they look happy together and maybe we shouldn't blame mani on prince changes. I only don't like the fact of taking the chance on a Prince weak moment. And i liked mayte cuz she speaks spanish, maybe she could do that he came to Spain again

Ya know now that I think of it the only reason I don't like Mani is becuase Prince and Mayte are still not together. Now seriously: I think Maytematched Prince very well - in the 90s.
They were both very sexy, wild, freaky individuals with a love for the limelight.
But Prince - obviously - has changed his views/attitude/lifestyle a lot since then. He's grown older, is religious and he's not as much in the center of public attentionas he used to. He has toned it all down a lot.
And Mani - in my eye at least - matches the changed man he is now.
So I think a comparison of the two as his wives is kinda senseless.
If U ask for the persons themselves, without regards to Prince, I'd say I like Mayte better... just because I'm into crazy people.

Now you've got a 3rd. I'm just going on my own physical attractions. I can't speak to who is better with Prince. Mayte just doesn't do anything for me. Mind you I always seem to be in the minority around here when it comes to tastes. I prefer Cat, Robin, and Kristin Scott Thomas to Vanity, Kim Bassinger, Carmen, Mayte, and the others.
