Did Prince think Apollonia was sexy?

How come Prince and Apollonia never got together romantically? I have read some sources that said they never hooked up and some that said they had a very brief fling.If they didn't why? I always thought they looked super sexy together. In the book Possessed it said they had hooked up but he found her kinda boring. I wonder why he never liked her.
