Anybody have a Prince interview quote that made them laugh or stands out in their minds?

Mine is Prince explaining to Chris Rock why he turned down singing on Michael Jackson's 'BAD'...

Prince: "He (Michael) wanted me to duet on the song 'Bad', you know the Wesley Snipes character in the BAD video?? - that could have been me. I had a look at the lyrics and the first line is "Your BUTT is mine".....! So I'm thinkin' - I aint singin' that to him....and he DAMN SURE aint singin' that to me!


Prince turned Michael down. Bet he's glad he did now!

Hmm, i could never understand the 'exciting prospect' of P and Jackson doing a song together. I just don't see what Jacko could bring to Princes' mix. I don't think he's fit enough to plug in his guitar leads, let alone sing a song with him.

I can't remember the interview but I remember at the time he was still married to Mayte (I mean she was living out of the country) but to me it was a very telling quote.

'SO HOW U FEEL 2NIGHT PRINCE?'

One thing that has always made me chuckle, on the 12inch of 'Bad' (which has a truly horrendous photo of MJ and the dancers from the video) there's an extended track with, in brackets, 'false fade'. So the track fades away as if it's ending and then comes back. But because you've read that on the label there's absolutely no surprise at all. It's a bit like if Prince had put 'features secret hidden track Wasted Kisses' on NPS.

My fave was when Prince and Mayte were on the Today Show being interviewed together by Matt Lauer. Matt mentioned that Prince spends a lot of time in the studio and did he think that would change now that he was married. Prince said that Mayte was encouraging him to get out and do other things once in a while (no WONDER it didn't work out!) and Matt asked what she might like him to do. Prince's reply: "The lawn."

My adoring husband says that this was on Oprah, but I say the Today Show. Anyone care to break our tie?
