Beginnings of P obsessions

I have always been a P fan, since as long as I can remember. However, I never really "loved" him. One of my favorite songs was Little Red Corvette, and I did love When Doves Cry, but I would only hear them when they were on the radio. He wasn't someone I thought about too much. Then I heard about the Musicology concert. It was a month or so before my birthday when I found out. All I wanted was a pair of tickets to this concert. I didn't know why I wanted to see this guy that I only heard on the radio so many times? I hate to admit this, but I even made fun of my mom when she said Prince was hot. I was like "Ewww, he is gross!!!" But that was all I wanted all of a sudden, and I begged, and begged, and begged. Finally, I got the tickets for my birthday. And yes, that is pretty much all I got (except for some money which I used to buy tickets to the next show!!!) But I kinda wondered myself where I got the idea that I "had to go" to this concert. But I did. And I went and had the best experience of my life! From there my P obsession began. I couldn't get enough! I dedicated my whole summer to Prince and had one of the best ones I ever had. After seeing the concert I thought he was the hottest, most talented man in the world!!!

So... that is the story of how my obsession began... now it's your turn...

Back when I was just becoming a teenager, my parents bought me a radio that I could use in my room. Up until this point, the only music played in the house was easy listening/oldies/adult contempory (on a radio that had an 8-track and record player). Well, being the teenage rebel that we all are, I turned my new radio to the local pop station (the twin cities old WLOL) and the very 1st song I heard was 1999. eek An addiction was born and 20 some odd years later I still can't get enough.

My obsession had a very late start. In 1998 a friend of me asked me to join her to a concert. I said 'ok, this gay man has made some nice tunes, Get Off and Kiss are fine, but Purple Rain is kinda boring to me'.I told her the ticket was too expensive. But she kept asking me and finally convinced me. She was all crazy that night, and because of her obsession we were there three hours earlier. This resulted in me standing on the 3rd row. Larry played for an hour, it was soooo boring, and then Prince waited for another hour to start. I was pissed, like 'what am I doing here? I wasted my money and won't even like this guy !' biggrin

No need to tell that when he finally arrived on stage, he blew me away in about five minutes. And he still does. This was the start...

My obsession started about... half a year ago smile I was in a record store, listening to cd's and I also listened to Musicology. I had heard about Prince before but didn't know a lot of his music, just Purple rain, Little red covette etc. So I had heard and read a lot about Musicology, and thougt I'd give it a try. And... really loved it!! I bought the cd and started searching for more music, more information. Now I'm waiting for a European tour. If he comes to Europe (Belgium please) I just have to go there! Have to see him!

There was this older guy. I thought was really hot. He had Prince written all over his bag. I had liked P's music before then. But when i discovered that this guy loved Prince, I decided I loved Prince too. And I've never turned back ever since.

i was on the school bus and my friend danielle was singing little red corvette with me cuz we were bored. she told me to go out to the library and get Purple Rain. i did as soon as i got home cuz she sang me part of that song. i sat in my basement and listened to the whole cd entirely through. i'd known who prince was ever since i was little but i'd only heard his songs on the radio. as soon as the cd stopped playing i was like DAMN that was a good cd!!! i was obsessed with it for like 3 months. on thanksgiving break i went down to nashville and we were shopping in best buy. i was looking at cds to buy and by the fate of god i passed prince. i saw the Very Best of Prince and saw Rasberry Beret on the back and Kiss and i was sold. that night in the hotel i stayed up and listened to the whole thing. during alphebet street he said "i'm gonna put her in the back seat and drive her to tennessee." that was fate beyond fate and after that night i have never ever looked back. i have never been happier and no matter how much ridicule i get for lovin his fine ass i will never stop listening to him cuz he makes me feel so damn good and plus he's just to sexxxy to ignor. biggrin
