On the MuchMoreMusic interview in Toronto, Prince was making a hint that Britney Spears approached him and told him how much he inspired her and how great he is. And he rolled his eyes after saying it. Then he went on to saying that he's honored when people say they've been inspired by him, when they actually have talent. That's both a very excellent remark on Prince's part but also very amusing considering some of the no-talent bimbos and various 'proteges' Prince himself has "mentored" and promoted over the years. Yeah but the difference between Prince's proteges and Britney is that none them were making the type of money Brtiney is for doing the same thing. They made about what they were worth in talent. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I'm not sure what logic you're going for there, but who's fault is that Britney the notalent skank rakes in the big bucks? Britney lucked out in being in the right place (in time) *at* the right time, had the promotion, and a stupid public that was willing to fork over the cash to watch some bimbette prance around in barely any clothes and shake her hooters to prerecorded, bad music. Do you think both Prince AND his various proteges of discernible talent over the years weren't hoping and praying to cash in bigtime? Of course they were. They would've loved it if they could've achieved what Britney did. It just never happened for them because the public, for whatever reason, didn't go for it. Sorry, but I think Prince sounds silly and rather like a hypocrite (and sour grapes to boot) overly critisizing the Britneys of the world when he tried the same thing years ago with his various bimbos. His plans just didn't pan out nor were ever as lucrative as the Britney machine, and I'm sure that bugs him.

The only reason that the Carmen Electra's and Vanity 6's etc., existed was A) Prince was screwing them, and B) he wanted another outlet for *his* music. If the records sold, he (and Warners) got the money not the groups. Those groups were on his payroll and would not exist without *his* music. Britney on the other hand has managed to make a ton of money with about as much talent as Prince's proteges'. The money is hers, she's paying producers and such but she's the one making the most loot. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I love Prince music more than any other's, but I definitely give Britney, Usher, Christina, Jessica etc their props for making a hell of alot of $$$$. What's wrong with that? They work hard too. I would see a point in Prince dissing her if she said that she was in any way an "artist" or musician. She knows her place. Prince respects Madonna, well why not Britney? Aren't they like mother and daughter or somethin?

Does anyone know how he feels about her or what he said in reference to her? I'm not exactly sure what she ment by "talking shit" about her since she could not elaborate on it very well.
Instead of tracking down this info you really need to punch your friend in the mouth immediately If god one day struck me blind,

Britney really thinks she has talent as a singer and songwriter. She is delisional and I don't blame her. I blame the industry. Someone has put these ideas in her head. Besides she should fell inspired since "Slave 4 U" was a total rip-off of Nasty Girl. Great to be inspired another thing to rip off someones else style.

He went on to say, "I invited her out to my house for an offer to show her how its really done, but she never called me back. So there you have it for young talent out here in this generation, they aren't willing and open to try new vigourous things."

Yeah, I'm with this person. Is this some type of joke, cuz I could've sworn that I saw both of the Today show interviews and I never heard Prince even mention Britney and I sure as hell ain't never heard him mention she was talented. On the first interview he mentioned showing Beyonce how to play piano and learning some of the keys.

I agree with SnowQueens comment: He does have the balls to say what he wants about Britney and any no-talent foe he wants, but at the same time he did do the same shit with Vanity, Appolonia, and Carmen Electra. True Britney is making more money during the same thing, but now that he is older he's just now beginning to admit no-talent bitches. If Britney had've been out years ago in the 80's/90's when he was still the rude boy, he would've screwed her too just like he did Madonna. Probably would still do it now.

However, I give 0 credit to Britney for any of that. She is what so many "artists" are today...an attractive figurehead that the industry uses to steal money from 12 year olds.
