Prince's real name..... I know Prince is his real name but have you ever heard anyone say is real name is Rodger? I've seen a copy of his B/C and it say's First: Prince Middle: Rodger and Last: Nelson. I was watching a true 'E' story a couple of months ago on Carman Electra and this lady being interviewed and she said: "He called the house one day after seeing Carman in the club dancing and I believe he was still going by his real name Rodger back then.....".  WTF? I know she's a fool but has anyone else come across this argument with someone?

Prince's real name is Prince Roger Nelson born June 7th 1958. Prince was named after his Dads Jazz band the Prince Rogers Trio. Prince's dads, John Nelson, stage name was Prince. Prince's mom called Prince "Skipper" when Prince was a little kid. Goodnight, sweet Prince. | |

Yep squirrelgrease is right - I believe Prince dad named him after a controversial headline he saw in a Nautical Newspaper which was reporting on a scandal involving royalty and a well known admiral...

I didn't think that the Prince Rogers Trio was Prince's dad's band. Prince's dad was in fact a musician and the PRN Trio was a jazz band, but I didn't think the two were the same. I've been wrong before though. By the way his middle name is Rogers with an s. "Life is just a party and parties weren't meant to last"
