First of all...If you don't have one already, get yourself a decent turntable (for all the yummy 12" stuff he's put out over the years).
Get yourself copies of Madhouse 8 and 16...They are unfortunately forgotten in the world of Jazz, but they are EXCELLENT fusion albums! Find a copy of "Time waits for no one" by Mavis Staples if only for the excellent title track. Find "Exodus" by the NPG Go get "Emancipation" Get a copy of "The Undertaker" And Finally....Join the NPG Music Club! Occupy Alphabet Street!

P.S. I just ordered Sign'O'Times too - SOTT is really good. I would suggest buying all his Warner Bros records, Crystal Ball, and joining the NPGMusic Club (www.npgmusicclub.com)

Next, you must receive a spanking from prince.org members. Then immediately join the NPG Music Club at www.npgmusicclub.com in order to receive all the benefits including access to Prince concert soundchecks. - hahaha, good one, Helena...

After Sign of the Times, which I see you ordered, I'd suggest the Symbol album, Lovesexy, the Gold Experience, Rainbow Children, Crystal Ball (especially for the Truth), and keep an eye out for some maxisingles, like cream, gett off, theives in the temple, etc.

First of all, welcome to the Prince Family, babyboy!
Your story was absolutely adorable, except u should learn to keep your personal bizznazz to yourself....or it'll come back later to haunt you. Second, 4everyoung's advice was very good...sit back and absorb the music, don't feel like you have to instantly become 'hardcore' and don't let others experiences color your own. Everyone enjoys Prince at their own level and you will gain a better insight into his music if you listen for yourself. I've been down for almost 18 yrs and I can still hear something different everytime I listen to a song.... Third, when you're ready definitely got to a Prince Party, that is if you're not planning on going to the Celebration in June already. It's one thing to listen to the music, it's another thing to be around PRINCE FREAX! To simply meet another person who understands how you feel about the music and the artistry of Prince is like truly meeting an old friend. Now, to be at a club that's playing nothing but PURPLE FUNK for 4-5 hrs straight with nothing but PRINCE HEADS is an orgasmic experience.....Hit up the Dream Factory if you're ever in the Bay Area...they will go down in history as *THE PREMIER PRINCE PARTY*...if ya don't know, ya betta axe sumbodee....

Just collect all his CDs for now-- the official releases. No reason to go overboard on all his other stuff (e.g bootlegs) until u got a good paying job. Trust me, it can get expensive. Just focus on his music. And by the way, I hope u get 2 see him in concert! Nothing like watching him live.

Young Piewalker, Lots of freaks on the org.
First of all, if you're real, tone it down. Prince wasn't even as blatant as you. (Well, maybe). Next, Go along with your own groove. Log off for a while. (Just don't miss a show or a download). I don't think it would have been the same for me if I had to listen to the community view on the music that moved my world. Start at Purple Rain, backtrack to "For You" and move forward. By the time you hit Lovesexy you start to question Prince's sanity and your own. Drop the Black Album in there somewhere in that era and roll. I could tutor a young apprentice, but it takes like 50 cds or more before you get to 2002, let alone boots. Everyone gets to have live their own experience. Even Prince. cracknbush
