Prince looks much healthier these days than he did in much of the 90s, when he was looking very pale and gaunt.

I was never around when he was at he's best, i never went through what a lot of U have, so 4 me this is all kinda fresh.

Watcha the "old" prince through Vids has made me think, "damn y cant he do that now" but really this prince is just as new and fresh as any other era, but thats only cus i have just became a fan!

He is aging as we all are..

I like his mature look, and his spirituality.

I saw a video of his Dick Clark performance in 1980, and he was like 19 or 20..he sure has evolved into a great maestro.

Aging is a part of life. When I first started to like Prince I looked way younger too. I look at the cat in the mirror today I sometimes say, "man, you looking older daddy pop!" All musicians get older in front of the public eye. I just think it silly to go under the knife for fear people will actually see you aging. It's crazy! Man, I seen Burt Reynolds recently and he looks like someone actually stretched his face and pulled it back just to keep his skin from sagging. I'm like, you would've looked way better by just aging gracefully. Now he looks surreal and odd. What happened to the days where people viewed grey hair as a sign of wisdom and maturity?

Ur joking right?
I'm gonna get my facelifts every damned chance I get. My face is gonna be so stretched my ears are gonna touch.

Really, you don't think that, do you?

Prince has aged well.....you cannot tell. Yes, his look has changed, but I don't think you can say he looks aged. To me, he looks better now
then he did back then, but maybe that was more of the look back then,
rather then just him.

It´s the hair, folks, just the hair...watch that Aladdin DVD and you´ll see what I mean. That short, straightened hair makes him look old. His hair is still thick and nice, but that split in the middle, like Bart Simpson when he goes to church, makes his hair look thinner. I´ve always liked the more natural hairdos he was sportin in the past or the minifro from musicology.
Give the brother three weeks in the gym and a more natural, curly hairdo and he looks like 27 again. lol
Seriously, he´s aging so gracefully that I don´t even want to call it "aging".
He´s looking scarily good.
I mean, if he decided to look like he did in Purple Rain or Sign of the Times again he could easily do so, just as a joke for a day or something. All it takes is jheri curls and that purple trenchcoat...put on the white cloud, and there you go wink
He does make some weird decisions sometimes, musically and visually , but he´s still great.
[Edited 12/16/04 3:31am]

I like Prince best with curly hair! More natural for him. 1999(1982-83), Purple Rain (1984-85), Sign O' The Times (1987), Diamonds And Pearls (1991), Love Symbol (1992), Come (1993), 1998 BET interview and Musicology (curly hair look) (04)
Goodnight, sweet Prince.

Moreover, is his graceful aging in any way shape or form, an indication of laten homosexual tendancies?

of course it is. straight folks always end up haggared and only fags age gracefully.

He never ceases to amaze me...we are almost the same age...I must say that he certainly looks better than me...and yes (cliche) he looks better with age to me...was happy with his early looks and must say, just as happy with his current looks...and aging.
IMHO ...his lack of aging has nothing to do with LHT...which I am sure you (Asian) do not believe...do you? wink

I regret not being born sooner. I missed all the classic stuff that his newer work will always be compared to. I can buy the albums, and watch stuff on TV, but I'm sure it's nowhere near the same as if I'd actually been there.

I missed it. sigh

I certainly miss the Prince of old.... I miss those crazed-eye looks, the obscene face gestures, I can't even bear to talk about the molestation of the microphone and himself while on stage. batting eyes I was looking at an old video, are we ever gonna see Prince laying on the floor on stage???? Gosh I MISS THAT TOO! bawl

As far as homosexual tendencies... no not at all I don't see it. I just watched an old interview with Chris Rock, and Prince stated what I have always suspected that the homosexual overtures were an act to shock and keep your attention on him.
I like that he is acting more like a accomplished musician with a legacy to leave behind during interviews and such.. (the chain mask era was just plain ludicrous) rolleyes. I just want to see the outrageous on stage again.pray

I've always thought that too.

Guilt (misplaced as, IMO, it is) *AND* the loss of his child.

Cosign!
I think the change was starting back then. And if it happened to me, I would have to re-examine myself also. How could something so terrible happen to a person, when EVERYTHING else was like gold in his life prior to that period. Then, bam! first his baby boy, then his parents... plus a couple of people in his group/entourage... I think he might have looked at all of that as a wake up call and made the changes he felt necessary. MORE POWER TO HIM!

nod P's outrageious stage antics is what put him over the top in addition to his multitude of talents. Damn, it would be cool to see him act a fool one time and be back in his old wild untamed sexually charged stage mode. Oh well, those were the days. There ain't nothing wrong with dreaming.

I can not call myself a "fam" but I do regret that Prince's interests now seem to be more about money, makeup and mansions. It used to be more about the music.

I mostly agree, but there are some things I'll never be able to experience. I would kill to see Purple Rain or UtCM in theatres -but I was only one when UtCM came out and didn't even exist when Purple Rain did.

He looks like he lost weight. He may be healthy, but his face looks so drawn in that I don't find him as attractive as during the Purple Rain era. Thank God his talent has not diminished one iota. Just keep grinding out an album a year as in the past...

I know at least half of you are going give me the fam cliche' answers :"It's just a phase of his life" or "he's evolving" or "he's in terrific shape for his age", but the fact of the matter is that Prince has obviously aged a good deal physically in the last 4 years or so. He's definately not old yet--but the day is coming.

Yes, he's still a stunning performer, and yes--he's at the top of his game for his craft. But am I the only one who feels some regrets that the feisty, nasty, fiery young Prince is past us? I do very much respect and appreciate him for what's he's given me over the years, but I very much miss the Prince of old.

Moreover, is his graceful aging in any way shape or form, an indication of laten homosexual tendancies?

His still fine & sexy to me. I'll luv him no matter what. wink
