It was at a James Brown show in 1983. M.J was on stage w/ James Brown, and he noticed P in the crowd, so James called him up on stage. He came up riding on big chick's (his bodyguard's) back, he grabbed a guitar from the guitar player in JB's band, and played pretty badly for about 15-25 seconds, played with the microphone stand, squeaked, bowed, walked off the stage, and as he was going he grabbed onto the light and it fell down, he also left his jacket onstage. It was a really embarrassing performance for Prince, but Michael was also off, and James Brown's band wasn't doing very well either.

September 1983 while in L.A. Prince attended a James Brown concert at the Beverly Theater in Beverly Hills. Prince was called on stage with Micheal Jackson by James Brown. Jackson was already on stage dancing with Mr. Brown. Prince played guitar and fell over on a prop on stage.
Goodnight, sweet Prince.

Yeah, I've seen the performance.
I don't think Prince did all that well.
He seemed slightly uncomfortable on stage.
MJ actually did a much better performance, and appeared more the start. Prince almost looked like a novice up against these guys.

Before PRince rode in on Big Chick MJ whispered something in Jame's ear--I think it was that MJ was telling James to call Prince up, beucase imeediately after he did that James started calling for Prince.

Prince's guitar playing wasn't all that great, but it wasn't horrible. It fit the part for Jame's song. But Prince could have sung alot better--he just did some wierd squeeling or something like that.

Not my favorite performance.

This happens occasionally. Sort of an appreciation/acknowledegment gesture.

Prince bringing Stevie Wonder on stage at Glam Slam LA, Trence Trent Darby gave props to Lenny Kravitz (who was there) at the World in NYC.

He does look a little "effected" in the performance. I think it's hellafunny myself.

Prince doesn't have that many off-days on stage so I think it's amusing to see one.
When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading.

It's always available on Kazaa. P did make a bit of a dick of himself, Michael just did the same dance move he always does before beating a hasty retreat - I think he was gone before P hit (sic) the stage.

This is a common misapprehension.

He throws his wee lace glove to a minder who then quickly chucks it in the direction of Chick Huntsberry, who catches it.

What I find much funnier is the way James Brown hurries to Prince after he has left the stage, carrying P's jacket, as if saying: "Hey Prince, you forgot your s***! Come n' get it!" lol
